I have a 34" Toro Timecutter with a Kohler 7000 series engine. What parts do you guys keep on hand so you won't be down during the season? I have belts, sparkplugs, blades and maybe a couple other things but looking to get more. Maybe a cheap contactor and voltage regulator 'just in case'

Absolutely nothing. I only have the oil for my next change because I buy a case at a time.

If it was for my paycheck, I'd keep an inventory of common stuff.

In terms of other small engine, I'm still running the rigged up cable on my snow blower that broke 4 years ago. Yes, I do have the replacement part, somewhere. I really should dig that up and replace it. :ROFLMAO:

I have too many spare parts, but I like to tinker with the mowers, so people will give me broke stuff so I can fix it and give it to people who need it. I typically have 4 fully operational riders on hand.

I have a Honda HRX217, no parts on hand. Mowers are pretty reliable, even the cheap ones. Maybe if you are a landscaper running them 8 hours a day, sure, but for residential use, nah.

I own a B&S Intek engine so I keep a spare head gasket on hand. Also a couple of spark plugs and an air filter.

My mowing equipment is an X series Deere, a $20. TroyBilt trim mower (straight off of Craigslist 10 years ago,) and a couple of Echo weedeaters.
I have ample supplies of oil for the mowers and 2 cycle Echo oil.
I have filters and a spare set of plugs for the X.
I have a small cache of plugs for all my OPE.
I keep spare blades for everything, and ample trimmer string.
I usually have some spare fuel line, and other incidentals as well.

I keep spare plugs, oil filters, and of course oil which is usually shared with other OPE. I keep no more than 1 air filter on hand. The other consumables I'll go through quicker. Usually will keep a couple plugs on-hand or 4 if it's a V-Twin. Two sets.

I keep a spare deck and PTO belt on hand, nothing worse than in the middle of mowing and a belt blows when the Deere shop is closed. I have two sets of blades, one on the mower and a spare, so I can swap them out and sharpen them when I have time. A spare fuel filter because they're cheap and can get dirty quickly. I always have oil and filters because I have an oil problem 🤷‍♂️.

As a home owner You seem to be in good shape. If parts are starting to go you will often get hints like noises or vibrations.. I do not know your machine so I can not speak to what the weak areas may be. Maybe someone who works at a Toro Dealer can chime in.
