Covers of songs (only good ones, PLEASE!)

David Allan Coe has some really good covers.

I can't post the name of one on here, but it's a cover of a song originally by Chinga Chavin, on Chavin's "Country Porn" album. David Allan Coe covered it on track 3 of Nothing Sacred. It's one of the most well executed country songs ever.

"Now, when she took my Cadillac, that didn't bother me a bit, when she took that blue tick hound, she shoulda never done that ****."

He did a cover of the John Prine and Steve Goodman song "You Never Even Called me By My Name" . Which was a complete parody of a country song they wrote one night with a lot of alcohol in a dressing room. Somehow it worked out quite well for him! One of my favorite DAC songs.

There’s very few covers that I like and even fewer that I think are better than the original but this is one. She blew it away as far as I’m concerned. This is also what put her on the musical map so to say. She’s really getting popular now.
