Once again they are claiming to keep intake valves clean even with DI. You can't see it in photo but on the right of the pic they show. a DI.

Please don't make this into something it isn't. People here know that there is only so much a DI gasoline can do to eliminate intake valve deposits. I take this info from Costco to say that the fuel is Top Tier, with an appropriate amount of cleaners added. That's all.

Where is the fuel injector?

it IS a top tier advertisement.. so not surprising it looks like one.

but I dont see any fuel injector shown.

I think Kirkland Branded Fuel is a great choice, my wife's Acura does well with Kirkland-Costco Fuel. That's the only brand ran in the Acura.

Kirkland Fuel is a Top Tier Fuel keeping fuel components cleaner which helps performance and milage. I also believe Costco monitors their fuel tanks to ensure there are no issues with quality. I wished Costco offered diesel fuel for my Ram 3500, I would not hesitate to use it.

It would be convoluted to address how additives help every single engine type. I don't see anyone saying how false the statement is that it will protect injectors on my antique with a carburetor. What if I used some of their gas to mix in a two stroke, how well would that clean my valves?

Considering the minute amount of the fuel used in those applications I dont think that the marketing is directed to them. You could draw your own conclusions but the economics of testing something for such a small segment isnt money well spent.

That does not look like a DI setup to me...I see no injectors, so I would assume they are in the manifold.
I stated that the pic included a direct injector out of sight on the right side of the pic. Wish I had taken a better pic. They have stated in the past that their recently new add pack keeps direct injectors clean. That was the reason for the new add pack. Can I prove it?...no but many engines will fire spark plugs multiple times on a combustion cycle. Maybe that's the reason MB doesn't have IVD problems.

While that is definitely a direct injector, it almost looks like it’s positioned above the intake valve. Moral of the story, it looks like an inaccurate illustration more than anything

It's not inaccurate for whoever drives a DI Honda. Which also leads us to the question, who has the biggest problems with small displacement, TGDI fuel dilution?

I'd be willing to wager Honda heads won't look like that if/when they finally do a thorough redesign on their long blocks.

There was a Costco Connection magazine article about six or so months ago that had pretty big article about the new top tier formula they were starting to roll out. It mentioned how the new formula could reduce intake valve deposit build-up. And yes, they specified it applied to DI engines. But the trade-off was more piston deposits.

I was surprised that article never came up on one of the threads in here. Maybe I missed it. But the advertisement looks like Costco is starting to let us know now.
