Colorado Turbo 2.7L Oil Question Quakerstate vs Pennzoil

I was just looking at that myself. The PP is a few pennies more than the QSUP at my local walmart which is why I couldnt make up my mind and wanted some advice from here. When I pick and choose an oil, that is what that vehicle will see its ENTIRE service life. I dont change even if the price goes up. The only way I would is if the manufacturer discontinues it and Im forced to use something else.
that's interesting my local Walmart has the PZ 6 cents less than the QS

I do seem to see more rebate offers from Pennzoil than I do Quakerstate, so theres that as well.
For sure.

go with the Pennzoil ultra platinum, you are getting one of the best oils out there for just under thirty dollars at wall-mart,,, I just got two jugs of 0w-20 and a couple of Fram ultra filters to go with it.

Of the 2, I choose PP but both will be fine for 5k oci. In a previous vehicle of mine, it consumed a little of the QS but when using PP, no consumption

Any TURBO engine will be hard on oil.... They are hard on a lot of things. I would agree to stay away from extended OCI's.
A turbo for me equals 5k mi OCI's max. Being a turbo I would drive it until the warranty is up then move it.

IMO it all comes down to how the vehicle is driven and otherwise maintained. I've had a turbo VW that lasted a LONG time and I routinely ran the oil for 7500-10000 miles between OCIs. But I drove it almost exclusively on the highway 90 miles/day. So in my case, the oil wasn't really being stressed. If someone drove a turbo vehicle hard, short-tripped a lot, or otherwise didn't maintain it, its life would likely be shorter than it should be, ESPECIALLY if using a non-spec meeting oil.

I fully understand the aspects of ownership... Been there, done that.
I don't want the added maintenance, expense, and concern of longevity as those items all fall under increasing liability of ownership. I'm not against a situation similar in nature, if so I would not own lifted SFA 4wd vehicles! However, my lifted JEEPS are not my DD's, for those very reasons.

The older I get the more I want my DD and my family vehicle to be very reliable and low maintenance. Hence the ES350 and the CX-5, and honestly the SKYACTIV (non-MZR) that is in my CX-5 is more concerning than I prefer as its DI.

If you want best then Pennzoil Euro L is demonstrated better with BMW Longlife-04 approval as well as a dexos license. Highly suitable for this turbocharged engine.
