Very light roast

Very tasty

All the good 👍 of Hawaiian coffee! Decent body light earthy sweetness. Thanks to the Abundant Life health foods in old Hilo for the guidance to Purple Mountain

Some recent arrivals.

The 3 bags from Verve, I ordered Tuesday (Feb. 13), they were roasted and shipped out Wednesday (Feb 14), and they arrived today (Feb 16)! Very impressive for a company all the way in California (I’m in middle Tennessee).

The Vancouver decaf blend, I’ve had before, and liked it so well that I wanted another bag. The tasting notes on the bag of cola and a honey-sweet aftertaste are accurate! Highly recommend. It’s the best decaf I’ve had yet.

I’m still dialing in the Crema “Staycation” decaf - I made a pourover with it last night, but setting “4” on the Ode was too fine - drawdown was over 6 min for a 500ml brew. It should be, ideally, 2:30-3:30. So, although it was decent, and had some very fruity flavors, especially as it cooled down, I think it can be much better. Tonight I’ll try again.

The other 2 from Verve, I highly look forward to trying.

I was introduced to this roaster by my wife - she got me the Flair 58 for Christmas, and a bag of a blend (“Sermon”) from Verve came with it. It was very good, and then I tried their decaf, which was also excellent. Their prices are also reasonable for what you get, I think.

I will update on what the other two roasts are like.

The Crema “Winter Sun“ blend is just outstanding. I’ve only pulled 1 shot with it so far, but it was just wonderful - one of the best, if not THE best, shots of espresso I’ve yet had. My notes say, “fruit, chocolate, cream, caramel, and some spice flavors I couldn’t describe/identify!”

A small Mr. Coffee machine. Not fancy but works real well for me.
I used a Mr Coffee for a week in HI. It worked just fine, even the first time when I was just estimating coffee/H2O ratios.

The coffee was GREAT.

My pushing 200 IQ wife nails it again: "Pablo - seems like the variable is the coffee at that level. Use good coffee and the brewing methods could be many"

I favor speed and convenience with coffee. We use K-cups and currently stuck on Green Mountain "Dark Magic" blend.

Now, when it comes to tea, I prefer loose leaf with a good infuser and electric tea kettle with multiple temperature settings. I love flavored black and green teas, but recently discovered Honeybush tea. It's a South African tea made of dried leaves of the honeybush plant. Caffeine free, but very tasty and supposedly a lot of health benefits.
