This was given to me over the telephone
20 percent PAO- 1-Decene Homopolymer-1-Decene Trimer
Moly 110
Magnesium 310
Calcium 1800
Phos 980
Zinc 1008
Sulphated Ash .086

Wow! The Citgo Super Guard mineral oils sell for 89 cents all the time. I would like to know how much this blend costs ? A Buck 89 ?

Pops, currently Citgo has a great rebate on their Supergard line of oils. I purchase the regular Supergard to put in my sisters's Jeep Wrangler and my brother's VW Golf. After the rebate I pay about 60 cents a quart. -Joe

Dragboat,

Have you tried any Citgo yet? It is very temping for me at $.49/qrt for dino. The specs look good to me. I just think if i get a cheap oil "you get what you pay for" is what i have been told.

John,
I have not tried the Citgo Supergaurd or the PAO Blend Superguard . A guy might get more than his moneys worth with this oil dunno ? The MSDS shows it to be a group I,group II base oil in the multi viscosity oils.

I know others on the forum are using it. Hopefuly a UOA will come in sometime.

Are you sure the dino is group 2? What is the pour point of the dino also? The web page shows low temp pumping of -31f ASTM D4684.

I am quite certain it is a mix of group I and II base oil for the Dino

Amazing to me that in the last 2 years ( about the time Bob and I traded barbs on Noria about Moly adds)that many of the OTC oils are using Moly in the 70 - 120 ppm range.

Especially EXXON MOBIL'S M1.

Got to admit Terry, it has been an interesting ride to say the least on how people and companies have become more informed on the use of moly over these last couple of years as well as now using moly.

Glad to see schaeffers has stayed way ahead of the game.. as you know, they carry more than just moly and zddp for better wear protection. Wonder how long it will be before they start getting up to that level? I suspect though that when that happens the cost of that oil will be a bit more than schaeffers is.

Does anyone know what % synthetic Mobil Drive Clean Blend is?

9 - 12 % PAO in that 5w30 and 10/30 grade Mobil Blend

The problem with the Supergard Blend is that as a consumer you cannot find it anywhere? One Citgo distributor told me he had to order a pallet to get it. I told him I'd take the first case but he didn't bite.

I think there is a problem with the Citgo supply chain. The wholesale clubs where I've bought about 35 cases over the past few months are out of stock on the 10w30. only 10w-40 remains.

It may be a result of the oil strike which has just ended in Venezuela.

I think it was destined to be with the new Phos Cap of 1000ppm and lower Zinc levels,,along with EC-III in low cost OTC oils. IMO not anything to do with forum discussions. They had to do something,,well some did not it's evident

But look at the new Pennzoil 5/20 with 186ppm of Mo and it's 1.24 per quart.
