can i change oil without changing my fram ultra?

All filter manufactures use the weasle word "upto" or something similar ... it's not just a Fram thing.

The XG can do 10~12K miles easily unless the engine is a total sludge monster, then no filter could do it.

You can but changing your filter gets most old oil out.
A half quart of oil contaminates your other 5 1/2 quarts

Yea-but his motor will still last many, many miles and the motor will not blow up. I didn't read the whole thread but my answer is definitive.......

I get 4 oil changes from my fram ultra and still running fine to this day
