Of course in response to @Zee09's thread on white vehicles, have you owned, or would you own, a black vehicle?

We've owned several black vehicles:
- 2002 Expedition Eddie Bauer, black with tan leather interior
- 1982 Mercury Capri "Black Magic"
- 2016 Dodge Durango Limited, Black on Black
- 2018 RAM 1500 Big Horn (EcoDiesel) black on black leather
- 2019 RAM 1500 Sport (current) black on black
- 2020 Grand Cherokee SRT (x2) black on black extended leather

Been looking at BMW X5's in black on black lately, which are, IMHO, absolutely gorgeous.

My last Chevelle was Black with silver stripe along the side. I used these waxes for an amazing "miles deep" looking finish.

Collinite No. 845 Heavy Duty Insulator Wax

Collinite’s No. 845 is a classic amongst diehard car care enthusiasts and historically known as an extremely durable wax that provides great depth and protection! Collinite 845 Insulator Wax leaves behind a deep carnauba shine and durable heavy duty sealant that preserves the finish and shields against UV, rain, snow, salt, dust, dirt, grime, bugs, stains and more. Each bottle is proudly handcrafted and poured in the USA.

Collinite No. 476s Super Doublecoat Paste Wax

Collinite’s No. 476s is Collinite’s most durable classic carnauba/polymer blend. Holds up month after month against harmful outdoor corrosives; UV, rain, snow, salt, dust, dirt, grime, bugs, staining and more. Ideal as a winter wax when both lasting shine and all-season/all-conditions protection are equally crucial. Handcrafted and hand-poured in the USA.

OK, I'm biting. I have a penchant for black vehicles. As is often said, nothing looks better(when it's clean!).
I have owned or own now black examples of:
1970 Chevelle SS396
1991 Nissan Pathfinder
1996 Honda Prelude VTEC
2002 BMW M5
2003 Chev Tahoe Z71
2005 Harley Superglide Sport
2005 Corvette
2005 Honda Civic sedan
2008 Z06
2010 Jeep Commander

Pics of a couple I still have

Yes, had it on the 2004 VW Beetle TDI.

Never ever again. Mark my word. It gets dirty so easy, shows every scratch, and swirls galore.

IMO it also hides the body lines, just looks like a dark shadow driving by.

Were you in AZ? That's just wrong. Imagine the plasticiser outgassing on that baby

i had a black 89 F150; not DD, bought used; I needed a truck, not a black vehicle.

My second car was a black 2008 Ford fusion and I refuse to ever own a black vehicle ever again. It was so hot inside during the summer it melted my ID cards for work, my glasses would fog up getting into it, and my leather glasses cases all shriveled up. My ac could barely keep up with cooling it down and it would take so so long to get cool after getting in it. I had rain guards on the windows and even tinted them which helped a little but it was still insane. Since then I've owned a silver Impala, green grand caravan, orange cobalt, and now an orange mirage. I've never experienced heat like I did in that car and I pray to never experience it again.

We bought a new black car in 1982, not going to say what it was. Lived 1/2 mile back a dirt township road, have never owned another black one. I'd wash that car and it would get dusty from cars driving by. When we look at vehicles the only colors we won't consider are white and black, and I want something in the interior that isn't black as well. In Az the most popular colors are white (27%) and black, white you can understand but black?? It will be a happy day when the black wheel fad goes away IMO. Had a run of white trucks through the early 2000s, got tired of it as well.

OK, it was a black '82 Citation.
