Kind of uneventful/expected when it comes to my 530i. Each tap/click of the CC button is a change of 1 km/h (darn europeans!), and if you hold the accelerator button steady, it will gain speed rather quickly, I'd say half-throttle, judging by how much the instantaneous fuel consumption gauge dips. You let go off the accelerator button and the acceleration stops almost immediately. No gear downshifts since it's a stick.

Same thing with my Ford and GM cars/trucks. The acceleration can be very fast if the situation is just right. Maybe a little upgrade with a downshift to a lower gear thrown in and the cruise really gets going.

The cruise control will open the throttle further as the error increases, error being the difference between the set speed and the actual speed.

So yes, if you tap up on the cruise control a bunch of times, you've increased the error and the cruise control will do what it's supposed to and open the throttle more.
