People who buy store brand are looking at the price, not how the name appeals to BITOG members.
It'll sell whatever name they give it.

Noticed that yesterday. Actually bought a bottle of the 10W30 for my generator. Didn’t even make the Argos-bottle color connection. FWIW I think it’s a better looking bottle than the old ones. The STP at AZ has a new re styled theme and the bottle is the same Argos color now ..... both Amalie blended
This has been my experience as well. It is much cheaper for me to order the ATFDW1. Transmission fluid for my wife’s Honda Civic on Amazon then it is to buy it from the dealer, but I have to buy 4 quarts at a time before the cost is worth it.Depends on the oil. Some of the common stuff goes unavailable from amazon and all you see is 3rd party resellers. Usually the stuff they sell in 5qt containers is competitive with walmart, and they usually sell the cheaper varieties of motul at a competitive price.
Generally if it's a 1qt container yes, it's a little higher.
It's replacing fram.Looks like the same bottle as Fram oil, interesting.
Just buy it from hondaautomotiveparts where you know it's legit, unlike Amazon. This has been my experience as well. It is much cheaper for me to order the ATFDW1. In no way is that the best budget option when 5qt of full Synthetic is $18 or less, with a filter being $5 or less.Advanced Auto has a ARGOS full synthetic and CarQuest Premium bundle for $28. I doubt it’s going to be any worse or better than an STP bundle or O'Reilly's/MicroGard bundle. Seems comparable to others. In fact with Supertech and Fram filters gone from Walmart shelves, it might be the best one stop shop budget oil bundle around.
What filter at Walmart is available currently for $5 or less? Supertech and Fram are no more. Not sure about your Walmart but the filter section in my local Walmart is bare.In no way is that the best budget option when 5qt of full Synthetic is $18 or less, with a filter being $5 or less.
$9/12 plus any Supertech oil puts the cost around the same as any auto parts store brand bundle. Nothing wrong with it but Walmart has lost its low cost combo advantage with the loss of Supertech and Fram filters. These are apparently the only two filters at my local Walmart that fit my Expedition, and are currently available.

Even worse for the Honda.

Sometimes you need a part today and can't waitI can't remember the last time I even went inside one of these stores, or autozone either. I get parts off of RA and amazon drops oil on my doorstep for way less than they sell it for. The local PepBoys only does repairs now, they closed the retail part of the store completely. I can't see AAP or AZ staying open long term by selling Christmas tree air fresheners and p-nut M&Ms.
I also don't like the high shipping cost from RA. It often nullifies the part discount.Sometimes you need a part today and can't wait
