That's a simpler setup compared to some that try to have a more non-step pressure/flow control profile. On a system like yours, if the oil pressure jumps up at some RPM point and pretty much stays there with increased RPM then it's most likely cutting some oil flow at the higher RPM range compared to an old fashioned PD which will have a pretty linear pressure/flow curve right up to pressure relief.Maxes out - stays there - and eventually goes to PRV … but the left side of that plateau is early …
Pump is really a just two stage for all intents and purposes …
Like mentioned before, there are many VVOP designs out there. I know the 3rd Gen Coyote has a fairly complicated control system where you can get into the software (with the right scanner tool setup) to change all kinds of control settings/parameters.
