I thought I remember everyone raving about the cleaning ability of Pennzoil ultra platinum. Is that not a thing anymore ? I never tried it. I always used Valvoline because I liked the jugs.
I don’t recall that being a thing, I’ve never heard anyone mention that it reduced their consumption for instanceI thought I remember everyone raving about the cleaning ability of Pennzoil ultra platinum. From the pinned Pennzoil Q&A:I thought I remember everyone raving about the cleaning ability of Pennzoil ultra platinum. Is that not a thing anymore ? I never tried it. I always used Valvoline because I liked the jugs.
You can order direct from Valvoline and have it delivered to your door. Here is a link. Otherwise, if you are willing to spend the bucks, I would go with Amsoil Signature Series.Say you had an engine that's known for the oil rings getting plugged up and/ or stuck.
And let's say that Valvoline Restore and Protect is not available .
What would be a good 2nd choice?
Good Question! Can Pennzoil synthetics clean existing varnish or piston deposits?
Did not answer the Question!Pennzoil Platinum full synthetics have been formulated to not only prevent deposits,
If you can clean the Varnish, why not the Piston Deposits?but clean existing varnish and sludge.
With a Test that was done to get to get the answers that the tester wanted. We have consistently maintained and demonstrated our “unsurpassed cleanliness” benefit with our Pennzoil Platinum and Pennzoil Ultra Platinum products in industry tests such as the API Sequence IIIH and Sequence VH engine tests, as well as results from our taxi fleets in Las Vegas and New York.
I am so glad I am not using Pennzoil Platinum anymore after reading the above statement. I think I will stick with Valvoline Restore and Protect 5W-30 for the colder months and then use Mobil 1 ESP 5W-30 during the Summer!Regarding the contributions of cleanliness and performance from different base oils, while a good-quality base oil is important, it can only achieve its full potential when blended with key additive technology to enhance and optimize its performance. Only through rigorous research and testing, combined with the right additives and base oil, can a motor oil be formulated into a high-performance product, as seen in Pennzoil Platinum and Pennzoil Ultra Platinum.

that was my thought too.for 4- 5000km OCI we know its a full ester product, and some kind of esters clean the engine ,but are these cleaning esters in 300V ?Redline Performance, and Motul 300V. With the 300V in a lower mileage dump then the others.
They are high ester oils, but far from a "full "ester oil, as that is not possible with the need for a variety of other base oils.that was my thought too.for 4- 5000km OCI we know its a full ester product, and some kind of esters clean the engine ,but are these cleaning esters in 300V ?
yeah ,i am aware of that ,i should write it the way you did : "full" ..for word economy i wrote it that way. They are high ester oils, but far from a "full "ester oil, as that is not possible with the need for a variety of other base oils.
Motul 300V is a racing oil. It's not recommended to keep it in your engine for more than 2-3 events or so.and Motul 300V. With the 300V in a lower mileage dump then the others.
Specifically, I would go with Mobil 1 ESP.I'd go with Mobil 1.
+1 My choice as well.Specifically, I would go with Mobil 1 ESP.
Hence, my mileage comment.Motul 300V is a racing oil. It's not recommended to keep it in your engine for more than 2-3 events or so.
