2025 Ford Maverick - New Changes

Details for the 2025 Ford Maverick have been released. Optional AWD for the hybrid now, making the towing capacity 4K pounds. Also push-to-start standard for XLT trim, and a new larger screen standard.

Prices though… Ouch.

Edit: The Order Guide with all build specs was on Ford’s link in the media article, but it looks like they removed it. Luckily I still had a tab open with it and saved it as a PDF. See below link, I have it uploaded to Google Drive (Can’t upload PDFs here)

The maverick would be perfect with a 6/7 speed manual transmission with front and rear locking diffs and the 3.3L tt out of the explorer ST

The Car Care Nut has a review of the Maverick

At about the 4 minute mark he mentions that Toyota licensed some hybrid
technology from Toyota, but not all of it. Ford designed the rest on this vehicle.

The Car Car Nut was not kind to the Maverick. I agree with some of his concerns. Especially the part where he is unhappy with the large price increases and nothing is upgraded. In fact there has been a lot of de-contenting. Being a lucky 2022 owner who is having very few issues I am a happy customer. For the $27K I paid it has been a great vehicle. Would I buy it at $32k, probably not. Value is king in this class of vehicle.

I'm driving a 2022 Maverik XLT AWD from our used car lot with 35,000 miles.

Pluses
  • Good on gas
  • Solid feeling drive, lack of rattles
  • Has heated seats and wheel on an XLT trim
  • Decent power
Negs
  • Small box - of course
  • Too low of a driving position, the power seats lack range
  • Weird, but the driver's door window power switches have rough, sharp edges exactly where you touch every time, not a place to cut corners Ford
  • And the key start, which has been fixed for 2025
I can see why it's popular.

too many doors + too small box + as usual anything that sells fast becomes a price gouging candidate!!

At 20k it was unbeatable.
now its 28k msrp and adding awd puts it over 33k out the door.
Adding a few options such as 4k trailer package its going to be over 35k to 40k.. as they will build the early ones with more options.
LESS EXCITING AT 100% price increase.
but there is no other small truck with fuel economy like this.. no inexpensive small truck phev/BEV to compete either.

The most interesting truck I've heard of in years was the $10k overseas toyota.

The F150 Tremor has a 7.3L option?
no.

At those prices, doesn't it compete with the Ranger? Why would they do this? And a Tremor Maverick? What a useless trim package.

Ford finds amazing ways to ruin a good thing.

The upcoming RANCHERO may cut into the sales of the MAVERICK . Supposedly around the same price range , possibly less .
