Turbos are awesome and make everything better.Maybe it's just the turbocharger that people fear?
Imagine if my Trooper was turbocharged! Imagine if my Odyssey was turbocharged!
Turbos are awesome and make everything better.Maybe it's just the turbocharger that people fear?
Yes and it's unfounded.Maybe it's just the turbocharger that people fear?
Basically. The LC here was a lux vehicle where ROW its a utility vehicle.Because the people that want Land Cruisers in the USA don't want the worst engine option and a bunch of junk inside like leather and TVs.
Give me a diesel, manual transmission + transfer case, lockers, cloth seats, power windows, and a radio.
I understand why they didn't but it is very frustrating.
Only those stuck in the past.Maybe it's just the turbocharger that people fear?
I'd rather have that CJ7 in the right background.
As I'd caution always assuming turbo = unreliable. Imagine waiting 10 years to buy a vehicle you want. It's what the warranty is for.I would use caution with blanket statements like "turbos are awesome and make everything better" or assuming its fear of turbo technology. My personal preference is what Toyota usually has done well, reliability. Check Tundra forums for how the new V6 TT is doing, its not pretty.
While the numbers on paper are impressive, I'm content with waiting 10+ years on the new 4 banger turbo and folks throwing themselves in front of a brand new design.
Not it the Mazda Cx-9. A turbo 4 in a big SUV turns out isn't the best long termYes and it's unfounded.
Mazda screws something up and that's proof that a smaller turbocharged engine is no good? Not it the Mazda Cx-9. A turbo 4 in a big SUV turns out isn't the best long term
What issues? So no na engines have issues? Not it the Mazda Cx-9. A turbo 4 in a big SUV turns out isn't the best long term.
This. BITOG is funny.Mazda screws something up and that's proof that a smaller turbocharged engine is no good?
We'll see....Mazda screws something up and that's proof that a smaller turbocharged engine is no good?
We don't need to see...smaller turbo 4s have been a mainstay for the last 10 or so years. Look at the ea888.3 2.0 in the VWs....Atlas has them and now the only option (gen 4)...3.6 na VR6 is gone. Gen 3 had no significant issues. We'll see....
Heck even modern convenience is a stretch with Toyota ahaha...getting Car Play was only a few years ago.4runner/Landcruiser market tend to be folks who want to drive modern dinosaurs. Modern conveniences with dinosaur powertrains. Unfortunately, that ship has sailed....and for the better.
Or with a 0.50 cal mounted in the back with 20 dudes in it.I'm guessing we won't see this version 4 hours away from civilization in the Sahara.
So true. Toyota does things "their way" and their definition of modern can be a bit outta touch.Heck even modern convenience is a stretch with Toyota ahaha...getting Car Play was only a few years ago.
