My FIL passed away in July and his 2011 Chevy Impala has been parked in our driveway. I’m finally getting around to cleaning it out and getting it ready to donate to a family member who need a car. It’s a rebuilt title so who knows what sort of redneck voodoo has been done to it, but it has some sort of persistent current drain coming from inside the dash. There’s a clicking sound in the center dash that starts as soon as I open the door and persists even after the key is removed. It seems to stop eventually but the battery gets drained after a few days.
My guess would be an electric motor running the blend door, but why would it continue after the ignition is off? What else might it be?
