Never been there personally, looks to be outside of West Chester and Philly, which we go to often.

I'm wondering what the engine noise difference would be between Mobil 1 0W-20 and Mobil Super 10w30. I'm guessing a night/day difference.

I'm trying max life synblend 0w20 in the 09 santa fe with 3.3 v6 , about 1000 miles on it so far no consumption as of yet but never burned oil using different grades before anyway so take it for what its worth. also no mpg improvement engine sounds like it always does no more or less noise. only one slight difference when the temps dipped to minus 25 last week it may have turned over a bit quicker (maybe)...

My girlfriend's mother drives a Camry of the same year and just has Pennzoil put in it. I've never heard a complaint about that car from her.

PP or QSUD 5w20 from Walmart and a 5000 factory OCI will take it to 300k. I am on my 8th Toyota...keep the engine clean and it will reward you.

Napa Synthetic is on sale for only $2.99/qt until the 31st, and it is rebranded Synpower. Why use a syn blend when you can get a full syn for the same price? Pick up a Napa Gold filter while you're there.

Isn't Toyota's OCI 10k on synthetic/5k on dino?

For only 6k, you could even use cheap Smittys from Kmart, which often goes on sale for $1.99/qt, or $7.99 for the 5qt jug. It's not on sale right now, but it does go on sale often enough for you to use it every OCI

May just keeping on with Maxlife 0w20 Syn or try 5w30. All these decisions LOL!

Play devils advocate here: what would M1 0w40 or 30 do?

Car51,

Here is my take on this. You already have a free preview of how 0w20 Valvoline MaxLife is going to perform. Run the current 0w20 VML fill out to 6,000-7,500, note any oil consumption trends. If it's not using an appreciable amount of oil on the VML 0w20 at a 6,000-7,500 mile OCI why fix what's not broken? I really like Valvoline products personally and if they're working in this engine I can't think of a reason to switch. If it turns out that its drinking quite a bit of oil on the current VML fill then I'd probably experiment with other brands or weights.

Slacktide_bitog: no K Mart around me anymore

FlyNavyP3: I think I'll stick with the 0w20 Maxlife Syn since we used it at work for what seemed like forever without issues

Mobil, Ford motor craft, or any quality motor oil would work. I just changed my moms XB with the 2AZ-FE with Valvoline full syn. Pick your poison!
