Would you buy a Fram if it had metal endcaps?

The question/point is moot because it's not going to happen. And apparently your point about giving the customer what 'they' want is misplaced. While I don't have figures, I would venture to the say that the orange can is the leading seller in it's class. So based on sales alone, there's no reason for Fram to change the design.

No way! Metal end caps or not, I refuse to buy (or use) a fram oil filter.

Why would anyone want to buy a fram, when you can buy a Purolator classic for less?

I have nothing against the cardboard endcaps, but I am particular about a threaded-end bypass, so that eliminates a lot of filters for me.

The endcaps aren't an issue to me as I've used STP filters for many years and most of those had fiber endcaps. I won't touch their current e-core products. The only Frams I currently use are for the '62 Buick as not much else is available that fits it.
That said, when I do find non-ecore STP filters for it, I buy them instead of the Fram.

I've been using the tg/eg for years without issue,I've got Amsoil filters for my Harley though and I've got a few wix for my mustang, not sure where they came from though.
I see no problem with the ocod when changed at a reasonable interval although they are a bit pricey for what they are.

Yeah, but I would never put it on a car.

There are enough unknowing sheep I mean shoppers buying ocod's that fram doesn't have to listen to the minority (us). If john force use it, it must be good right?

Their "customers" are fine with the current product design, hence their being customers. I haven't really heard of people dropping Fram in droves due to the fiber end caps, so they don't have much incentive to change. Who they are not listening to is critics/detractors (I was going to call them potential customers, but I think this thread shows that some will never switch).

I ran a TG with my prior fill, but would avoid the OCOD based on what I have read about their overall build quality on these boards and the filter efficiency listed on the boxes.

If they priced it competitively with other major well known brands sure I would. Since Fram QC is a little less rigid than Purolator Classic cans if the Fram was a little less I might take a chance on it.

Metal, Fiber, Cardboard end caps is not why I don't use FRAM branded filters.

But I can't really go on a anti FRAM rant because I do use Honeywell Honda filters. Given a choice I'd use FilTech Hondas though.

The FRAM Ultra is a nice filter for sure.

Still use a FRAM 2qt filter for my 83 Silverado, started 25+ years ago and with 216K on the clock, can't beat it, don't buy into all the doom and gloom
