So I've depleted my stock of OG Fram Ultras for Honda applications and it's about time for my next change. I have a 2016 Pilot (115k) and 2019 Accord Hybrid (255k) - both use the Fram 7317 size.

Both seem to be running well and look clean inside the oil fill hole. According to Honda's maintenance minder, you are supposed to change the filter every other time.

Option one: Fram Endurance every other OCI, per the MM. The FE looks like a great quality filter that addresses the shortcomings of the new Ultra. Neither car is likely to be dumping a lot of contaminants to be filtered out. The FE tests well at filtration efficiency. I think these are about $13 each.

Option two: Microgard Select each OCI. I don't think it's quite as good at filtering as the FE, but it's well-liked on this forum. Seems to have consistently good quality construction. I can get a dozen from Ebay for $60, so even at every OCI it's a little cheaper than the Endurance.

I am planning on changing when the MM hits 15% and probably using Kirkland 0w20.

I want to give my vehicles a long life but I don't want to spend unnecessary money on maintenance. Which of these two options (which are both pretty cheap) will give me the least amount of wear over the next 100k miles?

Do you know how many months/miles it takes to hit 15% after resetting the system?

I also have a Honda and I never bothered resetting it.
In 4 years I think I've only had to reset it maybe once or twice.

The A02 is a PH7317, so even that is good for every other OCI if you really want :)

If you decide to go more than one OCI on a filter, leave it on and DO NOT unscrew it! If you remove the filter for any reason, you must replace it!

I've had the Accord for about 3500 miles and it's still showing 70% on the MM, so maybe a bit more than 10k oci?

I feel like the Pilot is more like a 7500 mile oci. I'll pay better attention. We just got it last August and it's just about due for its second change.

For the sake of your objective (long service life/reduced repair expenses), I'd strongly suggest you do.
Especially if you insist on using 0w20.

Avoid Fram Endurance for the time being. They have a manufacturing issue that needs to be resolved. Lots of information here in the forums that you can sift through.

Have you considered a Purolator ONE? That would get you double interval easy. Otherwise Microgard Select every ODI.

Oreilly oil filters sold on ebay? Isn’t that a store brand?

How about Car Quest Premium oil filters ? They seem to be a quality oil filter with a good following here .

Basically the same as the MicroGard Select, both are just the house brand (AAP and O'Reilly). The Premium Guard Extended Life filter is also the same. All made under the Premium Guard umbrella as shown in many posts.

So if the Fram endurance line is having these issues. Does that mean the amsoil filter should have the same QC issues? They are made in the same factory.
