I'm going to be tinting the windows on my Grand Marquis, and basically narrowed my choice down to LLumar's ATC series and 3M's FX-PM series. Will be going with a 50% shade (have to keep it as light as possible by law) on all windows, rear windshield included.

Apart from making the car look better, I'm really looking to help keep the interior cool. When the car's parking in the sun, it takes roughly 5-10 minutes before the interior cools down.

Just wondering if anybody has experiences with either product, and which one they would recommend.

Thanks!

That's what I have on my car, but 15% all around including a band that extends to the AS1 line. In FL heat (95-100F) my fan is blowing at a max of 2 out of 4 to keep it cool.

Sorry, I got confused. Do have you LLumar or 3M installed?

Good to hear about the blower speed. The temperature range is 45-60 C (113-140 F) here, so I'm really looking forward to getting this installed.

I have LLumar 15% all around and the strip on top of the winsheild goes below the AS1 line..I put it on in Dec 2005 and the the only issues I have is the back window is getting slightly blurry and side windows have very slight issues with blurriness but you really have to look very closely to find it...But not blurry enough to make me want to re do it..Everyone I know down here has blurry issues after 5 or more years with this bazing sun down here all year long.

The a/c stays on automatic in the low position all the time as I have not shut it off since I bought the car..I leave it set at 77 degrees...Since I have allergies opening the windows is not a option anytime of year.

Even when the temperature is 95 and the heat index is 110 or higher the low setting is enough..I cools down very quickly [couple of minutes if that] with the tint.

That is really to bad you have such strict rules on what percentage to use...50% in your climate is really crazy...Down here unless you are driving around with limo tint all around the Leos generally leave you alone...My friend did get stopped in his P71 last year by the Miami Dade PD for have limo tint all around.

If I am in a car with no tint I feel like I am burning up...Even with the a/c on the highest speed.

When I drive up to the N.Y.C. and New Jersey area the Leos always look over at me but when they see my plate they leave me alone.
