Why Do Enthusiasts Hate Walmart Products?

The my post you quoted was a joke. Walmart is the best place, or amongst the best place to by automotive stuff 100%. It was an attempt at levity. Napa stuff has cheapened out some as well.
Joking is so much better than arguing , insulting or getting mad at each other for silly reasons. (y)

So , we have this pattern that happens unsaid , by the wife and I upon entering Walmart. Once we walk in , we split up. She heads to the beauty products , home n health aisles. I , am drawn instantly, with absolute zero control , to my "areas". I slowly amble like some drunk or a sleepwalker until I end up way in the far back corner of store at the Auto & Tire Center / Outdoors plus Fishing / Hunting sections.

That designed , Auto & Tire Centers along with Outdoors & Hardware being all the way to the rear corner of the stores is pure marketing genius. Designed like any good mouse trap.. it works flawlessly. Very good chance we pick up several items along the way in and out. Then our wives , girlfriends too will spot and pick up items along their way to find and free their men from the spell holding their feet to the floor in those sections. Walmart is one truly powerful entity on earth!

The words , Walmart is the main entry that can be found on every single page of our check books. Yeah. I know its shocking but we still really do keep and update a checkbook.

I write maybe five checks a year and would be afraid that someone working there would wash or grab my routing number. Unlike credit cards you could be wiped out. I've had relatives working at Wally that I wouldn't trust with one of my checks.

OOPs. Did not mean we use checks much. We use mostly credit cards or debit and I pay off credit cards about 2-3 times a month to avoid the interest charges. Even without using all those checks, we still use the debit card attached to the checking account. We just keep track by updating a checking book like we always have. About the only checks we write these days are to our lawn person who has been doing the yard since 2008. I pay all the bills and keep up with all the books since I am home and wife works 5 days a week. I pay all of our bills thru the bank system but I never sign up on anything for auto draft.

Im all for supporting small businesses as much as possible especially since owning one. I do prefer supertech 80w90 by the gallon for my built GM 8.6" rear in the silverado, makes the detroit truetrac function excellent compared to other budget fluids. I do run a mix of supertech and napa filters on the mower and a couple dodge/ford that take the "briggs" filter.

There is almost a Pavolvian reaction that Walmart = cheap crappy product
I wonder if these same people say the same for Amazon who bring in cheap items in the same manner Walmart likely got a bad rap.

Nothing wrong with Walmart, sure they had issues with the workforce but this has been mimicked with other businesses that people frequently support.

OP, it's an echo chamber, don't take the bait. Social media can be extremely toxic if you aren't careful. I have removed myself from that toxicity and do what I need to do. I could care less what other's say in regards to my interests. It's comical actually, don't support their revenue.

I created a group on Facebook called Mileage Impossible which is supposed to feature cars with high miles (250k+ and beyond).

Sometimes we have to ban a few folks. But in general, the site is pretty good at regulating itself and keeping it civil. Except for one weird thing.

Mention Walmart products even once, and it's Looney Tunes time for all the Internet trolls to come out and start screaming like banshees.

People accuse you of abusing your car. Buying junk. Being an idiot or worse. It's like wearing a Dallas Cowboys jersey at a Philadelphia Eagles game. The hate gets thicker than raw honey.

I really don't get it. Even 30 years ago I always bought Supertech oil and filters, along with the store brand coolant. They were perfectly fine for my daily driver which is still on the road 30 years and 400,000 miles later.

The price was always the cheapest (excluding rebates), and the quality was always there. I have probably bought over $250,000 worth of parts and fluids for the vehicles I have sold at my dealership and even today, I still buy Walmart labeled products without thinking twice.

There is almost a Pavolvian reaction that Walmart = cheap crappy product. That may be true for some items, and don't get me started on the hundreds of poorly kept plants they throw in the trash bin every month. But when it comes to the basics I think they're perfectly fine.

That's because EVERYTHING is a conspiracy.

Most routing numbers are publicly available. For example if you used Bank of America and needed a routing number to order more checks you would use 081000032.

I’ve always treated Walmart as a place where you have to evaluate each product on its own merits. Been happy with oil, filter, and ammo prices pretty consistently over the years. Can also find great online prices for name brand products then pick up the products at my local store. Try the Walmart app. Two examples. Coleman propane camp stove on clearance in the app for $15 and a TP link ax 4400 WiFi router for $89. Both great values for good products…the key is to be a good shopper…

I may have missed it, but what vehicle and what interval to go to 400k?

I cannot buy auto parts/ oil, etc. From a small business in my area. Its Walmart, Auto Zone, or O'Reilly.

First off, I am in that group and it is awesome. As for WalMart, I don't go out of myh way tot to there because the closest ones are either north to Lompoc or south to Oxnard. I will go and buy things if I am in the area since everything is substantially cheaper.
