NO! It is truly the sound of less friction!! Since you put in 3k per mo or 36k per year, it would be interesting to know if you experienced a range of BETTER fuel mileage. In my case the range was/is between .5 to 3 mpg. For me it seems to hover at 1.5-2 mpg. So for example if you got 37 vs 35 mpg, over a years time and 36,000 miles you are saving 56 gals x 37 mpg =2,072 miles (1029-973=56 gal x 2.5=140 year/12=11.67 per mo).

Please keep the us that follow this thread informed.

I bought the car this past summer, and to date the average MPG has been 41.6 using dino. Its headed down though due to cold temps and our winter time oxygenated gas. Plus snow tires will be going on this weekend. So I probably won't be able to tell until next spring / summer roll around.

"This probably will not do much to assuage your reticence, but the oem Honda filter is vendored by FRAM."

That's why I insist on the Filtech version.

In fact, my local dealer doesn't even stock the Fram one any more.

There are many filters. I have seen the Honda enthusiasts web sites with 25 dollar oil filters. Oem Honda (FRAM) I have seen for app 5/6 dollars. I am not sure the cost per unit for the Filtech product. After market cross references are numerous.
