Republic of Floyd? Love the Floyd General store and SW Virginia is one of my favorite motorcycle rides.
Air filter, yes. Oil filter, no.
As the filter clogs, the psid increases which causes filtration efficiency to decrease up to the point it becomes totally clogged. Then filtration efficiency shoots up to 100%. (with no flow)
You're only reinforcing my desire to move to the mountains. That's a beautiful house and view.
Be sure to ride from the Blue Ridge Pkwy down the ridge on Shooting Creek Rd. to the end (6.4 mi), make a right on Charity Hwy to the end (11.1 mi), then right on Rt 8 back up the ridge to Floyd (12.4 mi). A favorite with motorcyclists.

Yes, they moved their restaurant called Buffalo and More across the street in Riner to a much nicer place. Excellent food!
Totally agree with you. I've always done my own oil, and repairs when I'm able. I trust no one.
In 2018 my wife bought a VW Passat and decided she wanted everything done though the dealer.
First oil change, I get the car home, check the oil and its down 1 quart. Does my wife learn a lesson? No.
Second oil change, I ask for the tires to be rotated. I get the car home, oil level is fine but the driver side rear tire is missing a lug. I call the dealer and they say "it must have fallen out." Ummm, yeah, no. Does my wife learn a lesson? No.
Third oil change I ask them to rotate and balance the tires. Drive the car off the lot and the shimmy in the wheel is crazy. Brought it back and asked them to actually do their job this time. Does my wife learn a lesson? Absolutely! She won't let anyone touch any of her cars again if I can do it.
And this is all through a dealer. It amazes me that folks will take cars to Jiffy Lube, WalMart, or any of the 1000 five minute oil change places out there. Ain't no way!

I service our 3 cars at the dealer ( up until two years ago, we lived in a condo and owners are not allowed to work on vehicles ) and have never had problems and I put about 55,000 miles on them every year. I have been through every dealer where we live without any problems.
That said, I bring my own oil and want all the empties back.
Now, would I have the guts to let a quick lube change my oil, no way.
Only issue I have had at a dealership was the service manager trying to rip me off over a part that I felt should have been covered by the extended warranty. He insists he was confused but I never bought his excuse….call Honda if your not sure before billing the customer who already paid a lot for an extended warranty.
He got fired over that when I complained to the owner after I said I won’t be taking our three cars there anymore ( maybe they had some other problems with him ).
I sort of wish the dealerships did a bad job and made me find a cheaper independent shop
Not much scheduled maintenance owning Honda and they don’t need repairs often anyways.
