2025 Nissan frontier 3.8. 0w20

The rail steps are factory. Didn’t think I’d like them. But I do now. The truck ain’t high off the ground. But the steps are perfect for Mrs. Wardawg. I asked her pick the color. I been a white truck guy for 20 years. She hit it dead on. I like it. Tactical green metallic.

I don’t have this anymore. I wished I still did. But it was a daily driver when I got it. Being a third weekend vehicle would have been perfect. The water leaks when it rained drove me crazy. But as they say “ It’s a Jeep thang “. 2 door is the only way to go. The turn radius is crazy. I pulled the back seat to create a larger rear cargo type area. Easy peasy to pull and put back in. Just pull a lever. I think. Wardawg

I installed these steps. Made out of steel and powder coated. Got them out of a jeep parts website. I really liked them. I can not remember who or what they was. But heavy duty made. Wardawg

Very Nice! Rugged looking! Better than the new turbo Tacomas imho. I'm seeing Tacomas starting to build up on the lots. Pricing is in the 'what where you thinking' range.

That looks like the Nissan dealership in MT Airy NC. Awesome color choice.

Just got it. Nissan gives me 3 free oil changes within 2 years with purchase. I’m a do it myself guy. Normally. I talked to the service manager and told him I would bring it back at 1000 miles. And squeeze in the other two changes before the two year time period. He said no problem. I realize bulk oil. Should still be synthetic due to it being 0w20. When I start my own oil changes was thinking Mobil 1 advance 0w20. What oil filter is a great go too filter. I thought I saw where the Nissan filter is made in Mexico . Nothing special but still alright. This will be a low mileage vehicle. Probably once a year oil change . 3-5000 miles a year. Wardawg View attachment 263710

Is that GREEN I see? 😎😍

That truck needs pure GTL goodness in the GREEN bottle already posted.

After all the research reading. Filter cut open videos. Personal recommendations from yall. I think I’m going to go with Walmart Mobil 1 Extended 0w20 and a Fram Ultra Synthetic XG 7317 . Am I missing anything. I’m overpaying for what I’m doing. Once a year oil change. 3-5000 miles most likely. But really need to keep this vehicle long term. I’ll change it at 1000 miles. Did I tell y’all I love this 3.8 and 9 speed automatic transmission. Wardawg

the XG isn’t what it used to be but still a serviceable filter. the big issue right now is the leaf spring stamping being wavy and not allowing it to seal to the element. your best bet is a Premium Guard built filter. you can get them OTS as a AAP carquest Premium 84356 or a Orileys Microguard Select. search “Carquest Premium 84502 C&P” to see the dozens i have cut.

I was trying to keep it simple. But I drive right by an advance auto on my way to Walmart. Lol. Thanks for the info. What’s so **** disappointing is someone will make a really great filter , get bought out and then change it from why you bought it in the first place. We all here think and want to know how it works. But 99% of folks have no clue. And probably don’t actually matter in the real world if you change your oil at 5000. But we are different here. lol. 😝 Wardawg.

Owned an 1985 regular cab manual. A GREAT truck! Wish I would have kept to this day. The trucks that followed were not as good, nor as much fun. (1991 Nissan extended cab, 1992 Toyota extended cab all manuals.) Now the 1997 GMC SLS reg. cab was nice. Very comfortable. I wish I would have kept as well. We need this type of truck again. (I remember a few yrs back, the Ford dealer could not sell a regular cab, long bed Gold colored Ranger P/U 2 wheel drive. It was a stick BUT w/a V-6 engine. Give away price. I should have bought! That was probably a really fun combo!
I always bought Datsuns in the day because the Toyota trucks cost a bit more and they had that funky VW like plaid seats...

Buying a Toyota and dealing with their dealers (and especially the SET ones) is like getting a root canal. An expensive and painful procedure.

You only need to get the mandated work done, to keep the warranty active. It doesn't even need to be done at the dealership, unless specified "dealership only".
Go elsewhere - save money and make sure your private repair shop receipt has the proper mentions on it.
OEM approved parts - date - mileage....../.etc..... according to warranty verbage in your Owners Manual.
