got a financial pinch hitting soon & some stuff getting sold; I have a sticking point & want feedback; which 9mm platform stays & which one goes? first off...the stuff that is staying are a few 38 spl snub nose revolvers, a micro 380, and a compact 22 lr rifle;

the 9mm's that I am stuck on are 1) smith & wesson shield plus and 2) ruger pc carbine (using magpul mags for glock); the pc carbine is the most powerful rifle I own (by choice); ssooo...which one would you keep for home defense/bug out firearm?

Given the sale is for fiscal reasons, I'd sell the firearm(s) that would sell the fastest and for the most money. Think about the last time you needed a gun to save you life vs the last time you needed money. One is more likely than the other.

In re-reading the above, it sounded trite and that is NOT my intention.

The Shield will sell faster so that’s the most reasonable option IMO. I’ve had to sell guns for money before as well. Popular, practical guns sell faster and fetch better market value.

That said pistols are generally more useful for the average person and situation. The Shield could flex easily between carry, home defense or bug out. You could sell all your guns and keep just the Shield and still be well armed for most situations.

plan to keep the 380 & dao snub for pocket carry ccw; the exposed hammer snub is now the primary nightstand gun, the 10/22 compact has been the primary long gun (connected townhouse walls) until the pc carbine arrived; all of those are staying!

an fn 509c, s&w governor are definitely getting sold; so the choice is between the pc carbine or shield plus...

consider this topic null & void! sold off the governor, 509c, and a p365xl (wasn't originally a consideration to sell yet not in my trusted 'no sell' list) for a nice sum...3 days later I end up in the ER via ambulance which will cost a lot! both the shield plus & pc carbine must be sold off to cover more bills! the way things are going I might have to go minimalistic with my 442, lcp max, and 10/22 compact...they can do the job!

That's rough! May your fortunes turn right around for the better.

Look into negotiating the bills down or setting up a payment plan. Ridiculous bills are usually somewhat flexible I have found
