Which gas station would you choose?

That's a no brainer, go to Kroger.
Every 2-4K, buy and use a bottle of Techron in your vehicle.
Even at that, you are still money ahead.
Did this for years, before adequate offerings blessed by the Top Tier Gods were available in my general vicinity.
Car ran fine, life went on, the sun came up tomorrow, etc.

Costco is not the cheapest gas in this area either. Usually fast trip beats Costco
Costco is generally the best prices in Silicon Valley, often by a bunch. There are a few cheapies within a couple of miles of me that may match or even beat Costco, but not by much. But you have to go out of your way and probably wait. I am shopping at Costco anyways. If I just wanna gas up, I will go to the cheapie during off-peak times.

This is one way the EV is a lot less hassle.

I choose name brand gas from clean, newer gas stations if possible. I drive expensive cars, trucks and motorcycles that deserve the best gas I can find. Mobil gas is Top Tier certified so I would choose Mobil over Something called Food 4 Less gas...

One of them has more ethanol content to get to that price.

One of them will bring you back for another fill-up sooner.

I have had my best results from Exxon. Smoother engine and best gas mileage. My car takes a gas mileage hit with Shell. Every engine seems different.

If i needed gas badly and those were the choices - MOBIL for me and I would only put in maybe $10-15 and drive to the next lower priced TT fuel station. I won't use no name gas at any cost - what you save at the pump you may pay multiple times over at the repair shop....

If I had a car that needed gas, Costco would be my first stop.

Depends. There’s a place here where there’s competition between the station across the street where they’re typically within 5 cents per gallon of the closest Costco. Just a Valero station with decent business and a Mobil station with less traffic. The Mobil station is older and looks a bit dated, and gets fewer customers than Valero, which is together with a Circle K and Burger King. The Mobil station has a small convenience store. But I figure the gas is fine. And then there’s a Chevron station next to the Valero station that gets good business even with higher prices. It’s got a corner location with a lot better ingress and egress. It was a Chevron, became an independent, then went back to Chevron. I seem to recall the prices were very low as an independent.
