Gas Prices rising...why?

If we had an ounce of political ba**s, we'd put a dollar a gallon tax on gas. That would keep the oil price itself down, and more $$ would flow to the U.S. Treasury (which we certainly need) as opposed to into the hands of speculators, oil-producing countries and other profit-takers.

Yes, we could rebate the taxes back to low-income individuals to make that somewhat more neutral. We get what we deserve for voting for our politicians. High gas prices are the least of what we'll face over the next several years.

why not subsidize gas / oil like CHINA . That's part of the reason why their people are able to buy the big BUICKS and other large vehicles to live the AMERICAN way of life . Otherwise the AMERICAN car manufacturers would of folded much sooner . CHINA just struck a deal with RUSSIA for a oil pipeline and another deal with KUWAIT ( Shell ) for building more refineries as well , http://247wallst.com/2009/05/28/kuwait-sinopec-building-new-refinery-in-china-snp-rds-a-dow/ . Therefore , G.M.C. will move it's plants to CHINA for demand . Also , more profit thanks to cheap labor , no healthcare ( supplied by gov't ) , cheaper metals , and less environmental restrictions . Ain't all that a kick in the teeth . We all need to wake up . The corporations here could care less about us , it's about the $ . We're all commodities and investors to corporate greed and power .

I just read where oil went up again because investors jumped into the market as a hedge against inflation.

I think Oil/Fuel is too important of a commodity to be played with like that.

last year whenever BOONE PICKENS spoke of a certain price of oil ( example : $110 ) it would reach that point . Good thing he hasn't been on CNBC as of lately . When BOONE PICKENS talks , people listen . ;- )
