I had to dig a shallow trench about 45 feet across my driveway today. I was able to use the tractor some. But was still a lot of work. Hit a couple of rocks I could not dig out so just went around them.

I have never been real good at manual labor it always wore me out.

I will be 57 next week.
I'm now sore and beat.

I was at an event about 100 miles from home and from behind me I hear "Mr. Opus! Hi Mr. Opus!"

I didn't think anyone there would know me, so after I got over the shock of someone in the crowd actually knowing me, I then had to get over the shock of being called "Mr." by someone who isn't that much younger than I am.

Probably around age 50, when I couldn't do any car maintenance without being very sore for a few days after. Last weekend, I had to take the wheel off & reinstall on my daughter's Ford Edge, and changed the oil in my son's Jeep the next day. Today is the first day my back wasn't sore. I need to start doing core strength exercises.

One of my wisdom teeth is bent at a 45° angle so my dentist sent me to an oral surgeon. The oral surgeon, who was about 70+, said it's best to wait until it causes issues because it's a risky surgery for someone my age. I was 45 at the time.

When the grocery store music was better than what was on the car radio
You can hear music? My hearing is so poor, I don't remember hearing any in our grocery store. I did get new hearing aids last year, but their main function seems to have been to drain as much money as possible from my bank account.

Dirt bikes, street bikes with headers, and chainsaws left me needing a waiver at 17-years-old to be able to enlist into the Air Force.

I work at a race track all summer, but always wear hearing protection

when I saw that John Brodie just died at 90 yoa....He spoke at my High School graduation and I remember him being pretty young lol....
I am 67 but I swear if it were not for mirrors I would think I was 40. I hike, bike and work on my rigs and rarely have an ache or pain...

I'm 48 and don't feel old yet per se but have definitely noticed a decrease in strength and stamina the last couple of years. Fortunately no actual health issues though.

Going back about 6 years, I was playing football in a "bush league" as we called it, ran a wheel route, had my defender beat, came out of the 2nd break to find the ball coming my way, caught it, and was running for the end zone when the QB yelled out "get on your horse!", and when I tried to run a little faster I realized that top gear was no longer there, my legs couldn't keep up with my torso. Almost wiped out from trying to run too fast, but managed to keep my balance. That was sort of a before & after moment 😁

Just before I turned 69 I underwent some involved back surgery. People asked if I have any pain and I tell them that the only pains are the restrictions on bending, lifting and twisting...

Watching shows like "The X Files" and the "adults" Muller and Scully are kids now. Haven't watched in 20 years but have caught a couple episodes recently.

My coworkers are 90% dudes. For the last decade all the cool kids my age have been going bald. But we talk like the kids we've always been.
