What's your "one stop shop" oil?

As much as I love Valvoline Restore and Protect, I think it’s too narrow in its versatility compared to ESP 0w-30. ESP can actually lube many diesel engines quite well. Higher HTHS, superb base oil mix, great additive blend.

ESP also has just enough SAPS to perform well without destroying an engine that wants lower SAPS levels.

If ESP 0w-30 isn’t the “one oil” it’s certain an oil that is very similar. Perhaps the HPL 0w-30 Euro or the ESP x4 0w-40.

The Quaker State 5w40 is a walmart.com thing right? I'm close(ish) to two different Walmarts. Neither carry any sopus euro oil. One doesn't even have ESP 0w30 in 5 quart jugs.

Can you buy it from Walmart's website? I never physically go to Walmart anyone.

Someone else said yes on the Quaker State. I've been eyeing Pennzoil euro L 5w30 and it also would have to be purchased online and delivered. I very rarely go to Walmart, but I've been using the app to order and deliver my groceries. Last time I actually went to Walmart was to buy oil

I only go to Walmart to buy oil. Mobil 1 Extended Performance 5w30 for everything running today.

At least around here Wal-Mart doesn't carry the Quaker State Euro in-store, you have to order online although it currently is out of stock. I've noticed a trend that availability is spotty in the winter months but comes back around consistently about April or May. FWIW

Mobil 1 Extended Performance 0w-20. We use it in the cars, lawnmower, and snowblower.

Valvoline Restore and Protect would be the best choice for brand new to old engines since Valvoline says the Valvoline Restore and Protect is their best gasoline engine oil they make and sell. But it is not oil for penny-dollar pinchers. My next choice would probably be the Quaker State High Mileage Full Synthetic. I don't know if Quaker State is using the GTL base stock like Pennzoil Platinum, Quaker State and Pennzoil are both Shell Global oils, but I don't know if the Quaker State High Mileage Full Synthetic is using the GTL base stock. If the Quaker State you are refering to is using the GTL as other Shell Global oils are, that would be my second choice of the oils you listed here.

5w30 Valvoline Extended Protection High Mileage Full Synthetic has 3.3 HTHS. It's GTL with lots of a high quality type of moly and lots of other highend additives. It's good at cleaning, excellent for wear protection, and often reduces oil burning and leaking.

5w30 Valvoline Restore and Protect has 3.2 HTHS. I don't know if it's GTL. It's excellent at cleaning, offers above average wear protection, and often reduces oil burning.

They're both great oils, IMO. My plan is to use Valvoline Restore and Protect for a few OCI in my mom's 09 Prius, neighbors 11 Hyundai & 03 Honda, and my 97 Buick.

After I few OCIs of Valvoline Restore and Protect to clean, then I'll switch to something else. Likely either Valvoline Extended Protection High Mileage Full Synthetic or Quaker State High Mileage Full Synthetic. I also like Havoline Lifelong, but its 6 qts container size is not convenient for me because each my cars has 4 to 4.5 qts capacity.

I normally don't post threads like this, but I'm kind of interested in feedback from those of you who have found a "one oil for everything". Mine is Mobil 1 ESP 0w30. I've run it in two different trucks, it's in my Troy Bilt pressure washer, and it'll be going into my generators next time they get serviced. I'm very pleased with it and I would've liked if I'd taken the plunge sooner.

If I couldn't get HPL Supercar 0W-40 (my current universal), it's Mobil 1 Full Synthetic 0W-40.

That’s the only place I’ve ever actually seen it — on the website. Never once has it been on the shelf at any of the five or six Walmarts I frequent. When I chekced during the rebates last fall, it was about $23/jug.

I've read online that Quaker State & Pennzoil Euro oils are easily available in Canada. I've also read that they're affordable in Canada (at least by Canadian standards of affordability).

the new 1300 is "Syn blend" whatever that means these days.

So, Kubota, lawn mower, RV, GM LS trucks, GM 6.2 diesel, but not the 4 wheelers as they require JASO MA oil.....

Euro L is $26.77 locally, but online only. Mobil 1 ESP 0w30 is $27 and some change and kn stock at one of my local Walmarts. I wouldn't mind trying the Euro L but for less than a dollar more I'll buy the ESP.

Unless I find something on clearance or deep discount, my go to is Kirkland 5W-30. If it's a diesel or needs a JASO MA2 oil my go to is Providence 15W40 synthetic blend or Rotella T6 5W-40, whichever is cheapest at the time.

I don't know which viscosity you're referring to, but 0w30 Quaker State or Pennzoil is expensive in USA, if you can find it.

Well, according to an e-mail I received from Valvoline tech. support, Valvoline Restore and Protect is their best engine oil they sell for automotive gasoline engines, to be used in brand new cars you bought today off the show room floor until they are worn out. You are right about the HTHS being 3.2. That is really not bad though, considering the Euro C3 oils are >3.5. Most API oils are less than 3.2 HTHS I think. None of the Valvoline engine oils are rated for extended oil changes. A lot of people really like the Valvoline Restore and Protect and it is Valvoline's premium gasoline engine oil according to them. That is all I know. As I said before though, if you want to go discount Valvoline Restore and Protect is not a good choice from what I have seen.

delvac 1300 is SP, and extreme is SN rated.

My absolute #1 oil from new would be AMSOIL Signature Series. Top all around oil in most categories.

If my choice was limited to Walmart it would be Mobil 1 ESP 0W-30 or Valvoline Restore and Protect 5W-30.
