The Q was just rethoric. Don't know if they changed some of the base stocks, etc.It always just said "Super Car".

Naw, the oil is identical, he just did a special run with "Overkill" on the label, myself and a few others got some. The Q was just rethoric. Don't know if they changed some of the base stocks, etc.
Agreed. One that has a rebate.
the one that's on sale![]()
You run 0w20 in your Ram?Still running this (though the bottles no longer say "Overkill" on them) in the RAM:

Exactly. No 20 grade in ANYTHING for me.My favourite 0w20 is 15w40.
Yup, it's a bit heavier than your typical ILSAC 0W-20, and has a full-SAPS Euro additive package, but yeah, it calls for a 5W-20 (the HEMI later spec'd 0W-20), oil temps are well controlled, it has a massive sump, doesn't fuel dilute, and there have been no issues with bearing failures or anything along those lines in these engines on the spec visc, so why wouldn't I?You run 0w20 in your Ram?![]()
You should, nothing wrong with 0w20. What do you mean by the "heavier"?Yup, it's a bit heavier than your typical ILSAC 0W-20, and has a full-SAPS Euro additive package, but yeah, it calls for a 5W-20 (the HEMI later spec'd 0W-20), oil temps are well controlled, it has a massive sump, doesn't fuel dilute, and there have been no issues with bearing failures or anything along those lines in these engines on the spec visc, so why wouldn't I?
HTHS is 2.74cP, which is higher than the bog standard 2.6cP you see with most xW-20's.You should, nothing wrong with 0w20. What do you mean by the "heavier"?
I couldn't find the datasheet for it on their websiteHTHS is 2.74cP, which is higher than the bog standard 2.6cP you see with most xW-20's.

Pour point -81 wowIt's a 0w-20!

I made the mistake of asking Dave @High Performance Lubricants if they could do their Euro Super Car 0w-40 (502/505, A3/B4, A40, 229.5, A40...etc), but in a 0w-20. He said of course they could. Thought it was a neat idea. Obviously it isn't licensable/appropriate for those approvals because the HTHS isn't high enough, but it's the same additive package.
So, imagine my surprise when he told me he'd already requested to have it made-up only a couple of days later then sends me the above PDS. VI is reasonably low, so very little VII. Base oil blend is...

Yeah, HPL's Super Car line is PAO/AN/Ester, PAO bases have wickedly low pour points due to having no wax in them, which is why you see oils that are majority PAO with pour points like these.Pour point -81 wow
That's not the case with their Premium Plus line?Yeah, HPL's Super Car line is PAO/AN/Ester, PAO bases have wickedly low pour points due to having no wax in them, which is why you see oils that are majority PAO with pour points like these.
I think that applies there as well, but you get an API/ISLAC additive package. That's not the case with their Premium Plus line?

I am preparing for the worst. I ran HPL Premium Plus 0w16 for a little over 5,000 miles. If I find stuff in my oil filter, I will use their top of the line Super Car for some serious cleaning.I think that applies there as well, but you get an API/ISLAC additive package.
I just found this on Mobil 1’s website. A little vague but kinda points to cleaning.
