Here is the UOA from my 2011 CR-V 2wd SE (made in Japan!). I'm the original owner and it currently has around 112,000 miles on it. It used to be our primary vehicle and I typically changed the oil/filter once a year or around 8-9k miles intervals (I do my own changes). I mostly used Mobil 1 AFE 0W-20 but for the past 2 years switched to Castrol Edge High Mileage 0w-20. I used both Honda and FRAM XG-7317 oil filters. The engine still runs like new and does NOT consume oil. I exclusively fill up with Top Tier gas.
A year ago, the CR-V has been relegated to secondary vehicle use (our primary car is now a 2024 Tesla Model Y). The CR-V is now driven almost exclusively in stop-and-go traffic the city, 2-3 short trips per day, less than 10 miles per day, 5 days a week. The engine does appear to get up to full temp, as indicated by the 8 "ticks" on the coolant temp gauge. I live in Northern California where the temps rarely get below freezing in the winter but the summer temps are really hot.
From what I've read, the short distance driving qualifies it as being used in "severe" conditions, so I decided to change the oil at 6 months (1,469 miles) and do a UOA for kicks. The results appear pretty good. They recommended that I go 6400 miles on the oil.
Since I plan on keeping my CR-V for many more years, my plan is still to do a 6 month oil change interval to be safe and change the filter every other oil change. I installed a Valvomax oil drain valve to make future oil changes as neat and quick as possible.
