What to do with Tufoil additive?

Hey guys, I have a problem....

Several years ago (~10 years), when I worked at Pep Boys, I stocked up on the Tufoil additive when it was on clearance. Now I have about 20 bottles left over that I don't know what to do with. I don't want to put it in my engine and I don't want to throw it away (it might find its way down the drain and pollute the water). Can you guys give me an idea of what I can do with it? Can I use it as a lubricating grease for doors? I thought about shipping it back to Tufoil, but the shipping would not be worth the effort. If you have any ideas, I would really appreciate it.

recycle center ...I used it and ran a used oil analysis it has a lot of moly in it ! alos oxidized the heck out of my oil !

The easy thing to do is to take it to a recycling center ... but, I am curious, how much do you want for it?

I wouldn't worry about using it in the engine.

Give a bottle to all your neighbors, friends, and relatives.

Tufoil has NEVER been a part of any FTC action.
Tufoil has been in the Guinness book of records.

Why would you pour Tufoil in your engine? Is there something you expect it to do? It does not matter what it's made of or what the advertising says about it you have to figure the odds. One, it will help, two it will do nothing and three it will hurt you engine, somehow. One in three is not a very good bet, especially if you don't know why your are using it, and worse than that, you are paying money up front. Like the line from War Games, the smartest move is no move at all.

I wonder if it would hurt anything to put some in the gas tank and just dispose of it that way? Maybe try a little in a lawn mower and see how it runs...

Ditto! You really don't want to be pouring this stuff into your gas tank. I'd imagine it'd foul your plugs out rather quickly.

I just got my two bottles from George (Thanks again!

), and plan on using it as a gear oil additive in my Nissan truck at the next fluid change. On other vehicles that I've used Tufoil in the transmission, I noticed that it seems to make them shift a little smoother.

Why did not PepBoys simply place this item on sale ? That what everyone else does...

I bought mine from Big Lots years ago - and it may have come from one of the auto stores..

IMO, this stuff is OK, I have no complaints...
Also, I think I would pay a dollar or two per bottle(a pint I believe) to pay for the shipping.
But I hope the shipping is no problem ( this Tufoil could be considered to be a hazardous substance !)- We do live in a strange world today..

I would add a half a bottle (4 oz.) every oil change (as per directions on the bottle) and not worry about it. I used it in several cars years ago and never had a problem. In fact I think it made the car run a bit smoother. Another good choice would be to add a bottle to a manual transmission
as several people on an old SAAB site recommended it.
