What I have learned about oil filtration by reading this forum

There's gonna be a whole generation of car enthusiasts that will love to read how obsessed we all were "back in the day..."
The way things are going, it's more likely the next generation will be mostly car dreamers. They will dream of the freedoms we had, like being able to drive 10-20 year-old, affordable cars with 500 mile range and 3 minute refuel time.

It’s not so much which is better. It’s really about who’s kept their RR and QC consistent for so many years.
Supertech filters other than carbon composite center tube and end caps are pretty decent filters. At less than 5 bucks Supertech has really set their standards in QC high. Don’t be surprised if their the first low cost brand to go with POA base oil before the Amazon Oreilly and others.
But motors aren’t cheap so I definitely won’t cheap out on oil brand.
You know Supertech (Walmart) doesn't make oil or filters right? Champ (same company that makes the e-core filters for GM) makes the Supertech oil filters and Warren (same company that makes Amazon Basics) makes the oil.

There is nothing exotic or above average about either of them, they are just "value" oriented products.

Right? Someday when EVs are the vast majority of vehicles on the road, think of how silly this debate over engine oil filtration will seem. We might as well be debating how often to re-shoe our horses.

OK, if Fram Ultra oil filters are no longer the best, then:

1) do Fram Ultra oil filters now have a lower quality than they were?

2) what are the best oil filters now?

This started as joke thread but all the oil nerds are coming out missing the sarcasm.

This follows recent BITOG threads with the concern and paranoia and ultimately headstoning where the Ultra filters were recently redesigned using different media and no longer sporting wire-backed cages.
