It's for my protection and theirs, they told me. You must use only our browser on your work devices. All of them are work devices! I ran a check and it identifies as Firefox 128 (outdated) which it is not. So there's that. Sometimes I see only the thumbs up and not other option. And smilies cause an issue when I type one because I can't place a cursor behind but only in front of it. Editing becomes tricky.
 
A lot of my health problems are due to back pain. I have been for multiple MRI, Bone scan, & seen a surgeon
MRI report reads T11-L5 -multiple disc bulges, Moderate to severe disc disease, disc osteophyte complex bulges.

The area that's bothering me is L5-S1 where there is severe Bilateral (both sides) neural foraminal stenosis, & compression of the exiting L5 Nerve roots. I get sharp shooting pains and sciatica down my leg that can't seem to ease up.

Surgeon says they can't guarantee successful surgery, & with the degenerative disc disease if they were to immobilize the joint it would just cause more stress to the levels above.

All of this comes with degenerative arthritis and pain. The drugs for pain are probably not helping, & just don't have the energy to do it, but if you try to rest too much just makes things more stiff. I can only do so much.
I think the pain & inflammation is also contributing to my slightly elevated above normal PSA
I was reading that the autophagy process was supposed to help the body self repair. Getting desperate to try anything some days.

I went about 44 hours. Had a boiled egg, & some rice. I think I could have made it though the night, but back to work tomorrow, and didn't want to wake hungry
I am not very knowledgeable in all things about proper nutrition. But from some of the reading I've done, one of the main causes of inflammation is our diet that consists of way too many carbohydrates. When the body has to produce a large load of insulin due to a large intake of rapidly digesting carbohydrates, an inflammatory response will begin. Your condition is serious. I also have serious back issues. A couple of things that has helped is daily walking and eating a carnivore diet. Yes, it's difficult at times and takes discipline, but it has improved my back pain and I've lost 20 pounds so far. I really do feel much better. Just my opinion.

Refined carbs are inflammatory, as are animal proteins to varying degrees, saturated fats, trans fats, Omega-6 fats, and alcohol. Things someone is intolerant of or allergic to are also inflammatory to that person. For example, gluten, whey, lectins, 25 cocoa seed albumin, and other specific proteins are common triggers of inflammation in sensitive individuals. Some people are sensitive to lipid-transfer protein in certain vegetables. Those may also cause inflammation. Inflammation affects the whole body and the resulting immune response is deleterious in the long term. Chronic inflammation is to be avoided at all cost. Inflammation is a main driver of CVD, CKD, and dementia.

You can find guidelines for an anti-inflammatory diet. It's not required for everyone but beneficial to many and necessary for others.

I didn't have a fluffy, buttery crumpet so I had to make do with Wasa. Fig-orange and strawberry spread side by side. Darjeeling, hot, no sugar.

Daily workout and good eating goes a long way its kinda like a lifestyle not magic tricks

Going to have to disagree with you about one thing. Red meat is not inflammatory. Regardless of what the status-quo says.....it just isn't. Now if somebody has some peculiar reaction to it that would be out of the norm. Much of what our medical associations say about nutrition is just wrong and outdated.

It depends on various factors including the individual. For example, in an overweight diabetic red meat is certainly more inflammatory than chicken an thus can even increase insulin resistance.

You have to look at the actual peer-reviewed studies and not at the summarized published editorials that have been interpreted by invested or biased parties. I have no idea what "medical associations" you are exposed to. What we know and learn constantly changes. New ideas and theories take often a long time to be proven and accepted. Old ingrained but outdated knowledge is not easily rooted out. There are many misunderstandings because the matter is generally overly complex and simplification often results in a skewed or incorrect presentation of facts.
 
I’m not eating anything at all right now as I’m two hours into fasting. This first time I’m going to try it for 13 hours. I find that I am often hungry for dinner at 4pm but then I also end making a smaller second dinner sometimes. So if I just stop eating around 5pm most days and then don’t eat again until 7am that might help me get back down below 190 pounds again (for me when I’m above 190 I don’t feel quite 100% like I do when I’m closer to 180-185)

I won’t be able to fast a significant amount tomorrow night though because I’m going to a NYE party. But moving forward I want to try this out. Sometimes our bodies just need a change! (Plus this will keep me from snacking after dinner too)

The easiest thing to do for me is to eat only when I'm so hungry that my stomach starts making noises. That takes usually 8 hours after eating even very little. For example, I get up at around 0430. I will eat the frog for a few hours, do some laps in the pool, have a little bit to eat, just a handful of seeds and nuts, then go for a run. I will eat a meal when I'm hungry not when it's noon. I may eat at 1100 or at 1500 when my stomach tells me to. Then I will eat another meal, usually before 1900, ideally earlier. I go to bed at midnight. Between my last meal of the day and the first food of the next day I don't eat for at least 8 hours on most days. Easy! When I try to lose weight I am more disciplined but when I'm just maintaining weight I am less disciplined. I do weight maintenance mostly via caloric adjustment. But even when I am trying to gain weight I still like to not eat for at least an 8-hour contiguous period overnight. I just eat more and more often. 10 lbs plus minus is easy for me. This is the first cold season in many years that I didn't gain weight for. I got a warmer dry suit instead.
 
Was digging in the freezer earlier looking for brussels sprouts. Never did find the steam bag of them.
Will add to next weeks list for my shopping gal.

Did find 2 frozen lobster tails. Wild caught from the Oceans of Iowa. Thinking of cooking them for New Years.
Any tips for lobster in the microwave? She did buy fresh butter today, so I am good there. :p
