To a degree yes. I tend to like fruit woods for smoking pork. Apple, black cherry. I also like alder. Hickory is good if you want strong. Mesquite can be too much. I also have some oak pellets from JD whiskey barrels. That's super!
Are you able to control the degree of smokiness? What are your wood preferences for this?
JD,Bowl of Raisin Bran with a banana sliced on top. Then nap time for this old man.
Fell Sat night outside the bathroom and wrenched my knee. Put any weight on it now and I buckle and fall again. Could not get up and ended up crawling to my bed. Could not get in and fell again, only to hit the bedframe with my face. Sliced my eye open pretty good. Daughter is a RN and said I should have had stitches.
She brought me crutches yesterday. Then messaged that she ordered a walker. Not much fun getting old, kids!
NO fancy food in this house soon! Thankfully, my house cleaning lady is local. She got cereal, ice cream, milk and stuff yesterday that I can hobble in to get and eat. I could be doing worse and thankful for what I have here.
Sorry, not trying to drag this thread down or ask for sympathy. Just bored!![]()
JD,
Very sorry to hear about the fall- praying for a quick recovery.
Does this seen match the "local cleaning lady" arrangement you have?

BBQ rule one: No bark - No bite …Yeah what AutoMechanic doesn’t qualify for BBQ
It has to be pulled to be bbq at least that’s what I’ve heard lol. That’s why its name is pulled pork bbq. Never heard of non pulled bbq. That looks more like brisket which I’ve never been a fan of.BBQ rule one: No bark - No bite …
Dunno, I’ve had real BBQ in North Carolina, Kansas City and Texas. It didn’t look even remotely close to what’s on that paper plate. Get a smoker and do it right like brother and I do.It has to be pulled to be bbq at least that’s what I’ve heard lol. That’s why its name is pulled pork bbq. Never heard of non pulled bbq.
