What are you eating right now?

Balance is important. I like to replace the simple carbs with vegetation and a bit more fat and a little increase in protein
The bulk of our food should be plant matter. If its not then a caloric surplus is likely. Adequate protein and fat. Fat, if consumed in caloric excess is still the most lipogenic macro. Carbs as needed based on activity level. Limited feedings tend to be best for one's health. A surplus of carbs and protein for growth in combination with multiple feedings is effective but comes with longevity tradeoffs and decreased autophagy in the long run.

The basics are simple, but the particulars are complex and our understanding keeps evolving.

Maybe look into TLR4 stimulation and insulin resistance.

Nope, potato*, eggs and some hard boiled eggs tossed in. Some refried beans* on Dave’s Killer Bread* too. 😍
All *carbs. Just saying. Not lecturing. Hard to see what quantities are in your plastic bowl. I thought the brown bits are meat, but they are beans. Eggs are really great, no doubt about that. Dave adds sugar to most of "his" breads, I hate that.

Everyone is different and I know I couldn't eat that unless I was going to hike or bike vigorously afterward. Just my standard warning. I know you have posted about your heart issues and my - well - warning as you approach 60-65 you WILL become more insulin resistant. Of course straight protein is not the answer. Holistic, individual

Have you had your A1c AND you Vitamin D levels checked? Frankly the two most important markers, despite the world being hung up on cholesterol and triglycerides.

I think I will make a thread about Vit D, but will need all kinds of warnings to consult a good, savy, smart doc of your choice.

Doctor told me the A1C level is fine as of last weekends blood work and urinalysis. I take 1,000 MG day of Vitamin D also.
