I got home late and wasn't in the mood for cooking. I made a carnitas salad. Nuked carnitas from Trader Joe's on a bed of mixed salad, topped with avocado, pico de gallo, and sour cream. A few corn chips. Served in an industrial grade stainless steel bowl.

My mom can’t stand the word cook because she cooks all day at work lol. And she can’t stand having a dirty dish or silverware to wash either so it’s rare any real utensils or plates get used.

Yeah but it’s not my chore so I don’t do it. It’s my job to do laundry and anything in the basement since my parents have a hard time going up and down steps so mom and dad do everything upstairs.

You can add to 'your' chores. I do far more than I need to, and pay for much more than is expected of me. This is where I live, so want the best for us!

So those chores you do, that is the very least expected of you, not the maximum.
