+1, and hopefully automatic transmission OCI's get shorter. It's amazing how many obsessive compulsive oil changers stretch transmission OCI's until the transmissions fail.

You will always have a portion of the population who has a great concern for the environment, but to the masses they need encouragement, not punishment.

Great post!

We sure have come a long way...now if we could just convince the rest of the country to do the 1yr or 10,000 miles routine.

Nope, not me.
I've already more than doubled my OCI, so I'm content.
I too enjoy doing things, and I recycle, so it's up to someone else to do the 10k/1year thing...

Ain't that the truth! But things are looking up.
Thanks to the flush machine more transmissions are dropping dead in perfect shape than ever before.

Look at all that extra carbon dioxide you are exhaling by your bike riding...A known pollutant LOL

Plus all that energy expended peddling must be replaced by food...which entails all the trappings of water used to grow crops and hydrate animals if you eat meat...plus what they produce in pollution..., packaging, transportation of goods.....on and on. Add in all the gas wasted as drivers of cars have to slow down and go around you adding to their drive time meaning more gas wasted....

So you are not as green as you claim to be. LOL

"You know, in most states, it's illegal to peddle your arse!
hehe"

You would be correct...except in certain areas of Nevada.

Excuse me for my spelling error(s) Pedaling ones arse.....LOL

Beans are my favorite food. Last time I checked methane is a greenhouse gas. HA! Government....try taxing that!

It's because they believe in the "lifetime fluid"...yeah, it will last to when the tranny fails!

Methane is 20-40 times more potent than CO2, if I remember right.

I see nothing green about a 10,000 OCI unless your pouring the old oil down the drain of burying it in the backyard.

IMO it maybe greener to change more often and recycle the old stuff. If recycled oil is used in place of virgin in some products thats just more virgin oil saved in the long run.
Green is a touchy feely thing in reality responsible disposal and reuse is possibly more realistic.

I think that IF an engine runs less efficiently due to longer (too long) OCIs, then you're doing the opposite of "green"
Using more gas, burning more oil.
Sadly, the folks that carry the blame for the bad taste many have for "being green" is due to, well, we can't really discuss this here, we all know what's going on...

Until Chrysler tells me I can go a year and 10K without voiding my warranty I am not doing it.

No arguement what so ever. I am born again non oil changer. My point is that saving 5 qts of oil a year is a very small contribution to green. I am here to keep my fossil fuel burning machine from wearing out so I will be able to burn fuel for years to come.

Oh, got it. I agree. Plus, even if you do use an additional 5qts of oil per year, hopefully you return the used oil to a designated recycler, so there shouldn't be much harm from that.

They are takings steps to tax bodily emmisions.

The biggest problem with this country is there are too many tree huggers screwing with the economy. Every body wants to "go green" and we are gonig broke because of it. Now let the attacks begin.

I have recycled for over 20 years. The number of folks that would dispose of hazards improper that I know is 0. I am not shy about taking a leak in the woods or on eco terroists.

Since you've got it all figured out, please straighten me
out. If we're going broke because of going green, why are
the oil companies making record profits during a world
recession? Seems to me they're getting more of my money
and it's making me broke and them richer. What Am I missing
here O' Wise One?
