Vroom offer

Good to know
They say the offer is for 7 days or only 250 miles past the stated mileage.

Not sure what vehicle you bought but it’s worth a shot if you don’t need it at this moment. They paid me about $4500 more than I bought my Raptor for new. They ended up lowering the price to $1001 less than I sold to them for when it showed “pending sale” so they lost money on mine. That private equity money spends easier.

Don't you have to pay the taxes on it and title it to sell it? Would blow away your 3400 wouldn't it?

I got a very strong offer on my Passat from Carmax but problem it I'd have to get something else and everything is still high. I didn't try Vroom just because of some of the delays I've heard about on here. Sounds like it works out if your patient though.

No it wouldn't hurt me that bad if i do. The issue is can I buy another.
Plus I will get a loyalty discount too.

Well if your not going to lose money I dunno on that. You've hardly even used the new one, buyers remorse? Different color or trim tugging at you?

I just plugged mine into Vroom for kicks and they were over Carmax by 250 bucks. Carvana was a couple thousand lower but they were higher when my daughter sold her car.

No, I love the car but cash is cash.
Seriously why not. I'd buy the same exact one. Before I die I want to be as rich as @AutoMechanic

Algo just now came back to me and asked if they could have my car if they match vroom.
I sold algo two vehicles this year and they actually called me and thanked me as they did not even have to detail them..
Stay tuned...lol

You sound like my family..
I have been in the buy and sell game since I was 14...
I have no attachment to this stuff.
I keep my stuff nice as that makes me able to sell on the spot. I'd sell @AutoMechanic. to the lowest bidder in a heartbeat...
Cash is king and fools are queens...lol

vroom was 25600 algo 23200
also algo doesnt even ask any car questions
seems iffy since not everything shows up from vin.

Algo during the final sale process requires a walk around video conference.
Did it twice this year.
Easy but they arrange it afterwards.

ah, but they wont get my business if they are 2400 lower than the competition why would I want to schedule a walk around?

We've priced your 2019 Jeep Cherokee at:
$25,718.00

algo:

2019 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk 4D SUV 4WD
45,555 miles
Estimated value $23,300

On my truck they were higher than anyone else back then.
Carvana didn't even want any trucks

Algo is now crawfishing as my buddy in TN says. They don't want to match vroom....

Hey oh what the heck… Our 2015 crv needs a $350 starter in a $400 location. Dealer service is scheduled already for next week. For kicks and grins we drove to the honda dealer to consider trading newer. We were honest and just said we were opportunity shopping - if they met the magic number we might buy and if not no big deal. They had 1 new crv on the lot, and 5 or so used. They matched kbb trade and didn’t budge on potential selling price. I expected no budging on msrp, but they offered 18.5 for it, and Carmax is reselling her model for 28 down the street. Not wanting to deal with 2 dealers, which is what they told us to do, we were like, nah… ours will be just fine with a new starter.

Just for fun i submitted our Kia Carnival SX, MSRP with destination $42770. Vroom offers $42000. They intend to resell it used with about 5k miles for more than sticker, assuming they want to make 10% gross profit before shipping/storage fees that would be around $46k. Crazy!

They may have lost money, possibly not.

Excerpts from a financial industry report on Vroom competitor Carvana.

Report states Carvana is in the financial "bond" business, not in the used car business. Carvana's core business is to sell bonds made up of auto loans. They are also in the servicing of auto loans for buyer of bonds..... Carvana does not "sell" the loans they originate to other financial institutions, which is typically what car dealers do. They bundle these loans for themselves to convert into bonds. Article implies Carvana is more like Ford Motor Finance than like a car dealer. Article went on to say Carvana does not need to make money on the sale of a used car, it needs volumes of transactions that generate car loans to achieve its business objectives.
