The Genesis is Gone - Farewell and Good Riddance

Fixing an intermittent problem when you can't get it to act up may require throwing the parts cannon at it.

Intermittent AC could be caused by several things such as:

75% chance it's the AC clutch being bad. A bad clutch may appear as being intermittent. The clutch shoes wear down with use. Usually this only happens with vehicles with over 80,000 miles. Sometimes the clutch can be adjusted to take away the gap between the shoes and surface they go against.

A bad AC pressure switch.

A bad AC relay.

A bad dash control.
There's also the compressor control valve if its a variable displacement compressor. I've had one go bad before and it would cool fine at higher rpms and almost no cooling at idle or low rpms.

Good call. I absolutely would not want a vehicle with a temperamental AC in Phoenix that place is like the temperature of the sun.

Indeed; I've been living it since 1960.. But the high temps here in the Sonoran Desert tend to reduce the number of people moving here, so that somewhat reduces our serious water-supply problems that the vast majority of our politicos are ignoring.. I usually tell people it's WAY TOO HOT in the summer to enjoy life. 😏
