Does regular EP have a similar effect or is it the ester of the HM that does?i have seen the EP HM load up a filter on a few trucks. i think it runs pretty clean and is my favorite of their oils.

haven’t ever used the EP, always paid the extra for the EP HM (it won’t hurt anything) to clarify, talking about valvoline ep hm. i am not a fan of mobil products other than M1 0w-40 and delvac extreme.Does regular EP have a similar effect or is it the ester of the HM that does?
My theory is that even name brand group III synthetics run for a 5K OCI is too long leading to deposits - especially oil ring deposits . My Hyundai / Kia always receive 3.5K to 4K mile / 6 month OCI’s with M1 which is being continued with VRP . *Even if I had another brand of vehicle with a similar 5 qrt. sump , I would continue with 4K mile max / 6 month OCI . Lastly , if I decided to use another oil again (after running VRP for at least 6 OCI’s) it would be with M1 0W30 ESP. However , when VRP cleans as well as it does and offers great wear control as it does - why even consider changing back to another oil ?Well in truth, it was mostly group III PP and I went a bit too long on ODI sometimes by following the OLM to 0%. I figured the OLM was calibrated to petro and I could get away with it using at least a group III. I think that was true in terms of wear, but not cleanliness. And as I've posted, I've come to believe that cleanliness is actually the more important thing in a modern engine.
VRP is the right oil at the right time for the needs of many of today's engines. IMO.
Why indeed. However , when VRP cleans as well as it does and offers great wear control as it does - why even consider changing back to another oil ?
Yep that would be the perfect oil for sure. I have to believe they are working on it. Not sure what the requirements from MB, VW, Porsche et al. are for releasing ingredient lists (like Dexos apparently requires), but that would be the only reason I can see that they don't release a Euro R&P.All we need is Euro grade R&P!!
Given @Glenda W.'s experience on Valvoline EP, I do not think the EP will cut it.Does regular EP have a similar effect or is it the ester of the HM that does?
I'd love a diesel spec version for my 7.3!All we need is Euro grade R&P!!

Subaru oil burner with 5k OCIsDo you have a link?
My diesel takes 15 quarts.I'd love a diesel spec version for my 7.3!
Maybe you should take a couple 50 mile to 100 mile weekend run around what ever state you are in to get some miles on. Enjoy the road trip. For sure, I understand that. About 5 miles to a destination and 5 miles back is the shortest trips I take, longest is usually not more than 10 miles each way though. Only drive 2 or 3 times a week typically. 141k miles on my car (I used to drive it more). I'm hoping within 18-24 months it could make a difference.
And I respect that challenge/recommendation, I should do a little more exploring while I still live here.
