I checked my local Walmart and they still carry PU in jugs and quarts. Everything seemed cheaper than usual. I think m1 wqs around $21 a jug and the PU was approximately $26.88 if I'm not mistaken.

I wish I had went to Walmart before I got the oil change sale at OReilly with the PP and a kn filter, but I was forced to go during a lunch break and it was the closest parts store. I didn't want to get stuck with a delco filter at Walmart sometimes all the good stuff is sold out.

Currently my Walmart only carries D+, mc, delco, ocod, fram ultra, or puro classic filters.

Wow what a steal..... you should throw yourself down on the ground and cuff yourself.

And I was thinking of going out end of this week to see if I could get a stash of PU for my recent bought vehicle, to last. Seems I'll have to think of another oil to go with now.
What's up with PU deal

I would be lying if I said I wasn't pretty jealous considering I had to work really hard to even find enough for one oil change and payed $5 a quart when I finally did find just enough but for real AWESOME score man and good for you.

if he was that dumb, he wouldn't have scored such a great deal in the first place! - duh!

I keep checking all stores for discounts. The only one I've seen was today pp 5w50 for $2 quart at az. I don't have anything to cut it with so I passed on it. Money's tight and I need a jug of oil for my Taurus soon.

Spoke with a Pennzoil phone rep a few weeks ago who said Ultra will be reappearing in some WalMarts. Happened to be in one on Rt 59 in Aurora, IL and whaddya know: they were back with recent production dates and not on the sale rack, either. Only 5w/20 and 5w/30 at $26.97/5 qts, but it's still nice to have it available at a reasonable price.

It does happen in Canada as well.
I remember GC on clearance at Zellers back in circa 2005 for 99 cents per litre. 0W-30 just didn't sell back then.
I once picked up a case of QS oil treatment for 22 cents a bottle; still have a lot of the stuff.

Anyway congrats on the smart negotiation offer that worked.
I don't have any use for PU in that grade but I would have done the same thing.
At the very least you know you can resell it for a handsome profit.

I scored something similar (thought not as good as yours) when I got about 50 single quarts of Chevron Supreme/Havoline years ago when my local Target was clearing them out at >$1 a quart. I forget how much exactly but I cleaned them out.

Did you already use all of those 50 quarts by now? Was it a long time ago? How long did it last if its gone?

Is there any way you can explain that to make sense?
