"Truck and SUV" synthetic oil?!

Well, I use the Mobil 1 truck and suv, because as stated earlier, it is the same price at wallyworld as the mobil 1 5w30. It states on the bottle that it "has an extra protection additive." Even if it doesn't, it is still the same price....although I am thinking of getting a molly boost for this oil w/ the valvoline additive.

I'm pretty sure it is just marketing. I poured Quaker State Torque Power, a full syn marketed for trucks, into my 2003 Saturn ION. It performed just the same as all the other synthetics I used in my car.

I remember seeing some UOA that seemed to indicate some difference from the plain version however there seem to be enough variation form the various lots . . . so that seems to be in question.

The 5 quart Jug @ China Mart of SUV M1 was only $19.xx so I bought it. It was cheaper than the gallon jug of plain M1 5-30 on a per quart basis. Regardless it's great winter oil for my use.

For weather above freezing I'd have to say M1 HM 10w-30 offers more bang for the buck.
