Totally mainstream items you have never had the time of day for.

Ha! We use our rice cooker multiple times a week. Great way to make oatmeal too. In fact just the other day I was contemplating getting a new one because ours is so banged up from years of constant use.
A casino we frequent gave away rice cookers last year to their esteemed guests. I love that thing. LOL. It's a $20 rice cooker. Perfect rice every time using rice from the Asian market. I barely measure the water now. It doesn't seem to matter to the rice cooker. I'm saving up to buy an Uncle Roger approved Jojirushi.

Touchscreens in cars!!
Man … just spent weeks in a rental Edge … forget about hitting those tiny icons on bumpy roads … it froze one morning and I could not turn down the heat to seats or HVAC or anything …
Pulled over - turn off - wait - restart …
The only knobs were for the radio - NO - temps should have knobs

Newer model iphone with tier 1 provider, I have had iphones since Jan 2008. I had perfect reception on 3G (sadly no more) hardly any on 4G and none on 5G. So much for that theory. LOL
Guessing you have whackos locally against cell towers!? We have that situation at our wealthy beach towns where they only exist on water towers.

My brother in law lives in whack job Western MA and townspeople are anti technology and have no cell reception and just got high speed internet finally on fiber in last 5 years because they fought cable TV years.

Even locally near me at Pease/NH RT95/massive truck stop a huge dead spot existed for Verizon. They finally added 5g tower and download speed on my budget plan is 300-400 Mbps from 0….so voice is clear :)

I could see with two people or one, a dishwasher doesn't save much time,

We're two people and our dishwasher runs ~4 times a week. But we have cats (2), who are fed a wet food 'snack' twice a day on two small bowls/saucers, using a fork/spoon to serve and that's about 40% of the stuff in it at times.

I know that when we have company at holidays, we will run it pretty much after every meal with 5-6 people here.

Its funny the dishwasher was mentioned. Had one in a couple of our previous houses and loved them. At our last farm we were there for close to 10 years without one. We always talked about getting one put in but never did. Now at our new place, it has one. We barely use it and I still prefer to hand wash.

I love the smell but don't like hot drinks so none for me. No soda or juices for about 25 years. Now just water and straight unsweet tea but tons of ice.
Hell, I'm in Florida (which actaully feels like Hell for about 8 months of the year!) so I don't care for hot drinks either. But I do like cold coffee. I make mine a day ahead of time and put it in the refrigerator overnight and drink it ice cold. I never understood why people drink cold tea but think that cold coffee is intolerable.

Starbucks - the greatest rip off anywhere. I have one cup of coffee a day but have never bought anything there. And yet college students and folks living paycheck to paycheck with no savings or investments are suckers for their daily fix of $$$ latte and $$$ cappuccino. I hear the sandwiches are good but slow service seems the norm.
CHECK! Absolutely the WORST coffee that I've ever had came from Starbucks but didn't have any of their many favorings or sweeteners. Starbucks is in the sugar, artificial flavors and artificial sweetner business, not the coffee business.

I never had a sandwich at Starbucks but I can you that Panera has VERY GOOD soups, coffee and sandwichs.
