Toro Walk Behind Mower - No Oil Changes Required ?

Knee jerk assumption without knowing what's behind it. If I had a mower with that engine, I would still change the oil.

However, there is some truth to the claim depending who buys such a mower.

For math purposes, at my first house, I mowed 34 times a year at most, the time mowing was 50 minutes and any trimming and blowing added to that, so 50X34 = 28.3 hours a year on the engine.

So for someone that has a residential lot and isn't putting tons of hours on the mower annually, the engine will last longer than people think. You still need to maintain the mower and add oil as needed.

Interesting video on it. Start the video at the 5:10 mark unless you wanna waste time watching dumb comedy.

Come on lighten up it's Taryl Dactal and company just having some fun at work

I don't remember my Dad ever changing the oil on any mower he ever owned . Pretty sure he never sharpened the blade either ..

I find it hard to bring myself to sharpen blades given how often I find myself powering through mole hills, knowing how they're just going to get dulled up do soon. If I could milk moles, I'd have enough to start a dairy.

Yep, My Husky mower with a B&S motor says this. I call BS. I change it yearly.
I had a craftsman same situation, I would take a plastic bag and place it under the fuel cap or run it out of fuel place the mower on its side and change each season. Ran a 5w30 full synthetic never used a drop of oil all season.

in my Toro pace walk be behind, just take a vacuum pump on a warm engine , angle it up on some 2x4s towards the dip stick hole suck out oil, using Mobil 0w-40 fill to proper level and you are good to go, do it each season.no need to tip all the way over.

I've never changed the oil on my mower and it's a 1996 model. That said, it's a 2 stroke so...
