How Old Is Your Lawn Mower(s)?? And How Many Hours Approximately?

Found this at a neighbors house. Going to see if i can revive it. Labels says its from the year 2000. It has seen many battles.

I have an old (1987) push mower a friend gave me in the '90s with a B&S 3.5 hp with the Pulsa-Jet carb. Cleaned and rebuilt the carb a few times and it gets an oil change at the end of each season. Starts on the 2nd pull.....
 
i have a snapper commercial 21 with robin 5hp 4cycle. bought used in 1989 used commercialy continually since . still running . also 1990 commercial john deere 14sc with kawasaki 5 hp fc150. also bought used and still running perfect today. did replace transmission

I‘ll go first: I have a Troy Bilt 430 push mower, bought in 2008 and still going strong after 16 years. I also have a Toro 20330 Recycler walk behind self propelled mower, bought in 2010 and also going strong after 14 years. Both have Briggs and Stratton L-head engines (both about 190 cc “6.75 torque”) and have plenty of power to get the job done. Each gets roughly 20 or so hours of use per year, so about 320 hours on the TB and about 280 hours on the Toro. I use Amsoil synthetic 5W-30 motor oil on both. I try to change the oil every season but wind up not always doing that.

Honda HR214 bought new in April of 1989.
Runs great, been trouble free, always used Pennzoil Platinum 5w30.
Got a big lawn, too many hours to count.
Also, heavy as a tank, which is odd considering it's a cast aluminum deck.
Self propelled, so that's ok.
 
Deere z710a ZTR bought brand new in 2011. 680ish hours, annual oil changes with whatever bigger Napa Gold/Motorcraft filter I had that would fit until settling on a Napa gold regimen of filters from air, oil, and fuel filter needs. Oil has been a combination of regular automotive 10W30 early on, to Amsoil small engine, to now HPL. I'm on my third battery, and spark plugs have been changed once. I have swapped the transmission filters twice (due to my being OCD). It starts every time, but the bearings in the blade spindles I think are going out due to my (likely) using incompatible grease sold during covid by a local JD dealer telling me it was "fine." We will see, as it sounds like they're making a lot of noise compared to years ago. 7 ga steel deck that's been washed less than 5 times in it's existence. Solid as they come.
 
Got a 1973 Scott Bonnar with a 3.5 B&S on it. Given the replacement parts on the remainder of the mower it has lots of hours on it. The 3.5 is a bit down on compression, so I'm about to replace it with a 6hp Robin I have handy. The B&S is a year older than me, and I'm tired so I'm pretty sure I know how it feels. The rest of the mower is in good nick, so worth the upgrade.
 
I have a lot of lawnmowers, but the main one my dad bought new in 1977. 20" Lawn chief side discharge with a 3.5 HP B&S. Been used just about every week of the mowing season since April 1977 and still runs like a champ. Change oil twice a year, clean air filter and sharpen blade at end of year, blow cooling fins out every 5 years or so. We estimated it hit 1000 running hours in 2004, think it has around 1600 now doing some quick math. I think it was worth every bit of the $125 it cost. Also have a 1981 Toro 18" aluminum deck bagger I like using, my grandfathers 1970 Gilson 20" pusher that's been used a lot also I use once in a while. All have the same vertical pull start 3.5 HP B&S. 1990 Lawn chief 500 12HP B&S my grandfather bought new, 1000+ hours on it as well. I've worked on a lot of lawnmowers and used a lot of them, but none of them ever seemed to outperform than lawn chief 20" despite it not being self propelled or bag capable. Push comes to shove, it does it.

Got to love the Briggs fatheads, my Toro Personal Pace was made with a flathead the last year Toro offered one on a push mower. Still going strong!
 
2005 Craftsman (AYP) rider with a 22HP B&S V-twin. I’m on my third hour meter so the exact number is unknown, but around 700. My walk-behind is a 1998 Lawn Boy 6.5 HP self-propelled two stroke. It only gets used for trimming so it has maybe 100 hours at the most.
 
I have a 2005 John Deere L111 (Briggs V-Twin) with about 200 hours on it. No major issues

My walk-behind is a 1991 Lawnboy M-series (M21BMR). I don't have an hour meter on it, so a guess would be around 350 hours. I have had no engine issues, but some issues with the original self-propelled system. It has been used for full mowing on a ~0.3 acre lot from 1992-2005, and only on trim duties on a 0.5 acre lot from 2005-2024.
 
It's a '09 Husqvarna 2454 (24 horses 54" cut) w/around 700hrs. The engine finally croaked a couple of months ago. My yard is not all that mower friendly (around 2 acres total including highway areas). So, I'm on the search for a replacement mower. Will probably drop down to a 46" or 42".
 
I’m running 1980s snappers at two of my properties, and a late 90s John Deere at my home. I may buy one of the last Honda mowers and just leave it in a box until the time comes…
 
16 year old Yard Machines with a B&S 190cc. I use 10w 40 synthetic usually Super Tech or Quaker State changed once a year. I think it has right at 600 hours. I live in Florida now bought it when I lived in Georgia so high temps, and long cutting seasons. Still runs good fires up on the first or second pull. Just had to weld some cracks up on the deck, but even that's still on good shape.
