Don’t know how people do it. Thats one reason I’ve stayed at my current job and house. 6.5 miles and can easily do it by bike or scooter. We’ll probably move when we retire.
3 hours for 70 miles, crazy. I thought Houston was bad where it's maybe 2 hours for 70 miles from one extreme to the other. I get enough in my suburb where sometimes I have to wait for the second green light cycle to get my turn. It's actually faster to commute to Las Vegas. It's more miles(200) but you are normally moving 80+ mph. It's about 70 from where this pic was taken to LAX.
Uncle Joe did that
I was in outside sales in Southern California. I have logged well over 1 million miles on those freeways. So yes-I'm quite familiar. Probably even worse now than when I retired 13 years ago. It's every morning and night now too
If you asked a Southern California how far something is...they well almost always ask what time of day-and then give you driving time, not miles. No wonder, every time I go to Orange County CA I get screwed over, its ridiculous, and google maps is almost always dead on with ETAs until you enter California, then google map ETAs become useless, additional 3 hours in traffic is common every time I drive through i-15...
Google says there is 550000 people up here now and I guess 75% commute every day.I was in outside sales in Southern California. I have logged well over 1 million miles on those freeways. So yes-I'm quite familiar. Probably even worse now than when I retired 13 years ago.
And no matter if it is a freeway, toll road, or Interstate, it is "The 5" "The 101". Like to get from my house to Dodger Stadium it is "The 101 to the 134, to the 5, exit Stadium Way. Usually 2 hours unless the 134 is clapped around Glendale."If you asked a Southern California how far something is...they well almost always ask what time of day-and then give you driving time, not miles.
Gotdamm
That's the way to/from Silverwood Lake I think? I remember that road being jammed with boats and campers last time I was out that way. I'm aware they have since rebuilt it to get rid of all the crazy twists and turns but it looks like traffic has skyrocketed anyway.Yep. Hesperia side
Perspective. I was visiting someone in Indianapolis and arrived there around 5PM on a Friday. The person I was visiting warned me that traffic would be heavy due the combination of rush-hour and Friday afternoon traffic. I think I slowed to maybe 40mph once, never came to any sort of stop. Contrast that to traffic around Chicago where off-hours where you have to deal with stop-and-go traffic more often than not, and during rush-hour I've sat at a dead stop for minutes at a time before creeping forward 10' and sitting some more.I'll never complain about Cincy traffic jams again!
Need to do it the Aussie way with a little autogyro.Amazing how people choose to live their lives and spend their free time. People have options if (and only if) this type of prefix bothers them.
Don't forget blood boiling issues. That's called Extreme driving conditions! I live in SoCal, and stay off the highways during commuting time.
Extreme driving conditions like that everyday constitute cutting your oil change intervals in half.
Carbon buildup, fuel dilution in the oil, etc.
Just my two cents
Uncle Don will fix it allUncle Joe did that
