Every car company needs improvement, including Hyundai, Toyota, Honda or whatever... but IMO no where near the BIG-3. And I'm not bashing the BIG-3 I'm just stating what I believe to be true.

Regardless if they win car of the year or not, this doesn't change IMO. Hyundai has been working hard for the past 10 years to undo all the bad choices and the inferior quality of their previous products, so has GM, FORD, CHRYSLER. The difference to me is that Hyundai has been a lot more successful at it that's all.

I speak from experience... I have seen later model Big-3's and while much better than past models they still have their quirks and things that make you think twice. I then see the Hyundai I have owned, my mom's Kia, my sisters well abused high-mile Hyundai and all have had 0 problems and only wearable parts replaced.. That keeps me believing in Hyundai, but that doesn't mean that nothing else can be good out there... I'm just waiting for the other brands to catch up to what Hyundai can offer to me. Good quality rock solid reliable vehicles without annoying quirks as a very good price unbeaten by others.

Bring me another brand that offers this and I will be the first to switch...

I've got a loaded 2008 CTS that I love. Better than any of the competition - and I did actually compare the MB, Lexus, Infinity etc just for kicks. No comparison. I've had the car almost a year and with 11,000 miles not a one issue. Great car from Cadillac. GM proved it can do it, and the same goes for the new Malibu and fullsize suv's/trucks. As the older models (and more troublesome) are replaced the GM lineup with finally be refreshed and competitive. I hope they become like Hyudai where they were junk in the 80's but excellent in the 2000's.

Yep. My CTS's 3.6 Direct Injected engine comes to mind. 304hp and great gas mileage. Best engine from Wards' Autoworld.

I hope GM & Chrysler recover from this mess... I really do, and I would agree that the CTS is a huge step forward from some of the junk they considered putting the Caddillac name on.

Now if they could just figure out how to make the height of the vehicles accommodating to taller people I might just go back and have a look at the current line-up.

Not being a jerk, but check back with me when you have 100,000 miles and let me know how the car is working out. I want to see if it is really as good as it looks to be... Again I'm being sincere...

Well guys, as you can see by my profile, I got one. Picked it up 30 days ago. So far, I've put on 1300 miles. (thats a big grin you see on my face)

As for the 375HP, well that is only when you use premium fuel.
I use regular, so it is only 368HP. I guess I can live without those extra 7HP.

Tiny little Ben? 6'3" 210 here, and the 10 year old Mustang isn't the daily driver.

Bring on your Hyundai...

And seriously, don't drag me into your [censored]. I don't even feel like any of your post applies to the argument I was making at all, even though you keep dragging my name into it.

Chill out d0OD.

The fact that you mention Lexus as a brand with an image people will pay for is proof that things will change and Hyundai does have a chance if they play their cards right. Image-conscious people weren't cross-shopping Lexus with MB in 1988, were they?

The fact he mentioned everything he did shows nothing but superficial shallowness...

What do you have in that Mustang? Blower or something? Something to add 100 more hp to match the Genesis's 4.6L V-8?
LOL.gif
I kid, I kid!

The Mustang would whip the Genesis with Check Engine Lights and coolant leaks to spare... I kid I kid! hehehe

It's a nice car (Mustang)...

Seriously Ben, what do you have in that car? I'm a huge Mustang fan. A client of mine has a 93 LX Mustang with a dead stock 351 short block, AFR heads, a T-76 turbo, and a built C4 that runs low 10s at over 130 mph at out high altitudes in CO. Has it tuned to run on E85. Far and away the fastest car I've ever ridden in.

well its not exactly totally new. Its a new injection method on a engine that has been around for about 4 years. Which all things considered is still pretty darn new.

Your Not... those who continue to say "But It's a Hyundai" Are that same ones who continued to say "it's a Piece of Shiite foreign Car" in the 80's, while the rest of America's Car buyers saw the value and quality in Honda's and Toyota's and made them into the Modern "big 2"...
