What's the HTHS on the Syntec vs the PU?

I was also told by engine builder's of my cars engine that the "oil pickups" were too small for such a thick oil and I was basically starving the top end of the engine. I went back down to a 5w30 and lo' and behold, it's not consuming a drop anymore.
5w30 EC to 15w50 is a pretty extreme jump in viscosity! Even with the jump to a different 40 grade formula, it may take a while for the consumption characteristics to stabilize. The oil pickup is no smaller than the main oil gallery. IIRC it's a square plastic 'straw' about 1sq.in
