Well I changed out the oil today in my 07' Mazda 3. I dumped the dealer bulk, and refilled with 5w30 Supertech Dino.
I intend to run this a full 5000 miles. Afterwards I plan on getting a UOA done on it.
I know that there are several labs to send it to. I was going to send it to Blackstone, but I've read on here that there readings are not always calibrated very well.
What are some good reliable choices to go with.

I guess I am mostly curious to see how well this dino holds up in my vehicle. I have not found alot of UOA's on here using it.
Their synthetic, yes, but not so many for the Dino.

How many miles on engine? some engines take several thousand miles to fully break in, I define broken in as when the oil usage drops to a steady low level, mpg has peaked and leveled off, vacuum is at max, and no longer visible metal frags in oil. If you do a UOA before this may get skewed results. ST syn is group 3, so really a premium mineral oil rather than a real syn. As a group 3 has less waxy type things in it so less need for pour point depressors, and less volitile(lower nock). Other than this rather the same as the dino and the blend types of ST.

Your UOA will not really tell you anything. Get atleast 3 more OCIs and let all the break in metals purge the system. If you get a UOA now, I will answer your first question. Iron is from break in.

I've never had any issues with any of my Blackstone reports. I can recommend them. How do we know that "they are sometimes not calibrated very well" unless you send a sample of the same oil to multiple (more than 2) oil testers?

UOA will say something about the oil if not the engine.

Thats what I want......the oil info more then the engine info. I want to see what this stuff is really like. I know my engine is still tight and new. It runs great.
But I really want to see if the Supertech can withstand all the stop and go driving I do. Like I said, I'm about 99% stop and go.
