Is this Warren Performance Products? Is WPP embossed on the bottom of the bottle?

,,well that confirms it this is new stock new bottles why they went back to SL Hmmmm, but good IMO,so what is plant HW? and who bottles this oil,for people reading this.

Here in the midwest there are new clear bottles for the synthetic ST. New label, meets "GM Corvette" spec. Still have WPP on the bottom of the bottle. It's all marketing.. "OHHH. New stuff. Must be better"

No nothing on the bottom just a recyclable emblem and a number 3

10W-40 Motor oil is not as popular anymore. So what the oil refiner did, to make money, is sell it to Wallyworld for the older cars that run on SL oil, at the price Wally wanted...lol

5W-20/5W-30 are the most popular fills for the newer cars to meet EPA/API/ILSAC Standards/10W-30 is probably less popular, but still produced.

10W-40 is the least popular nowadays, except for people who love the thicker oil because "thicker" is better, or the car manufacturer wants that type oil put in the engine. I am not trying to start thick vs thin oil debates between everyone....please....

SL is still good for the manufacturer's cars that use that rating. Still plenty of those cars around nowadays.

No ALL new bottle weights are SL..all but 5w20,i just grabbed 10w40 for my oil can.

5w20 SM
5w30 SL
10w30 SL
10w40 SL
20w50 SL

That didn't take long, new bottles here! As said, no identifying marks on bottom. Drop back to SL is thumbs down, IMO. They had no 5w20 and no 30 wt.

I'll pay a buck extra a jug for SM rated QS Green. Wally World must have cut a heck of deal with somebody.

Daman, I believe you when you say that all the different weights of oil are SL except for 5W-20 being SM.

It makes me wonder, then, which refiner made the SL rated oils.

I am still trying to figure out what HW is for the plant that produced the bottles of oil.

There are still refiners that produce SA/SB Oil that will destroy a modern engine in a very short time.

SA/SB Specification was made obsolete during the 1930's, by API.

Yea i don't know maybe they wanted to keep the 5w20 more on the energy conserving side vs the others, but they all say that so dunno, thanks for your info on this mustang.

i'd rather have SL anyway IMO.

In my opinion, my thoughts about the HW Plant is that it is coming from the Warren Oil Refinery in West Memphis, Arkansas, which is very close to the headquarters of Wally World. Then it is shipped to various Wally World Centralized Warehouses for distribution.

Warren Oil Company does Private Label (Read Walmart) oil bottling

could be right, but if any one finds out for sure do post up

Walmart has to have several contracts for their private label oil brand. I think Walmart does it to increase competition between oil refiners and get the best deal for itself, based upon its' various store locations. I know that Walmart tries to outsmart the suppliers so that the suppliers lower their prices, however, the suppliers play the game to win, and Walmart does not really win anything anymore. The product that Walmart gets is based upon what it is willing to pay for that product, so quality can go down just to satisfy Walmart. That is why Walmart buys lots of stuff from China too.....My opinion only...

If someone else finds out that it is a different plant than what I think it is, please let this forum know...That way we know which, plant for real, is the supplier. I am making an educated guess on the plant location, based upon the proximity of the plant to Wally World Headquarters.....

Well, I for one think I might just "bail" on using any more SuperTech oil if it is going to be this complicated to keep up with who is producing it. It used to be dead obvious, but now it does not appear to be with these new weird bottles.

For dino oil, Rotella is $10-11 a gallon ($2.50-$2.75 qt)

For synthetic, Rotella and Mobil 1 are in the $4.40-$5.00 qt range if purchased in the big jugs.

WalMart is a low cost leader. Since the squeeze is on, the supplier may cut quality to remain profitable.

OK, a reasonable assumption based on the fact that Warren has done WW 5w20 and synthetic. BUT, why would they stop putting the WPP or WNE symbol on the bottom?

A bottle btw, which is not similar to any other oil bottle I've seen, so far.

Can someone explain this comment? Not trying to crack wise here, just trying to understand a preference for other than the latest spec'd oil.
